Holiday Villas in Avlaki Resort

Avlaki is an easy going resort set around a wide pebbly bay on the north east coast of Corfu. It is far smaller but just as appealing as its neighbours, Kassiopi and Agios Stefanos, making it the perfect choice for a relaxing holiday. For typical Corfiot lunches and dinners, there are a couple of beachside tavernas with panoramic views across the turquoise sea to Albania. You can spend hours snorkelling around the rocks at one end of the beach or just relax with a good book. The Corfu Trail, a walking path around the island, passes across the headland at the end of the beach. It’s ideal if you want to take a stroll and enjoy the flora and fauna. All our villas in Avlaki are within walking distance of a beach, a real luxury.

Exploring Avlaki On Villa Holidays

The nearest mini market or supermarket to Avlaki, is in Kassiopi, around 10 minutes' drive along the coast. There are also plenty of shops selling souvenirs and beachwear. For dedicated shoppers, Corfu Town is around an hour away by car and well worth the journey. The stalls sell everything from clothes and shoes to fresh food. In the oldest part of the town, there are dozens of shops selling traditional gifts, from jewellery to olive wood kitchenware, oils and soaps.

In Avlaki, take your pick between 2 tavernas, each with large gardens, facing the beach. The menu has a typical choice of salads, grilled meats and fish plus local wines and beers. If you fancy venturing a little further, the next resort along the coast, Kassiopi, has many bars and restaurants - traditional and modern - around its central harbour. A 10 minute drive south is Agios Stefanos where a row of smart tavernas and bars line the waterfront, attracting yacht owners and holidaymakers.

Avlaki has a long pebble beach protected by 2 headlands which makes the water very calm. The beach shelves gently into the clear water making it great for snorkelling. You can drive a couple of minutes' around the headland to the next bay, Coyevinas. This beach is also pebbly and has no facilities, but is still great for swimming, sunbathing and a homemade picnic!

In the summer months, you can try the watersports on offer at Avlaki Beach. Alternatively, you can take a boat trip from Kassiopi Harbour. An idyllic way to see more of the island, enjoy fantastic views of the coastline and be sure to stop for a swim. Further afield, Aqualand waterpark is in the centre of the island, just over an hour’s drive away.

Kassiopi Castle, the remains of a 15th century fortress, stands proudly on the headland overlooking the rest of the village. Visit the ruins before heading down to the harbour for a cold drink or ice cream.

Further afield, Corfu Town is around an hour’s drive away and makes an excellent day trip. With elegant arcades and narrow streets, 2 Venetian fortresses and a beautiful marina, there's lots to explore. For walkers, Old Perithia Village is a unique small hamlet on the slopes of Mount Pantokrator with hiking routes, stunning views and traditional tavernas to sample old Corfiot recipes.
