It is always wise to purchase travel insurance when you pay your holiday deposit in order to protect yourself against some of the things which can happen unexpectedly, which might mean that you cannot travel, such as injury, death or illness.

Travel insurance can offer peace of mind should things go wrong on your holiday, such as an unexpected medical emergency, or the loss or theft of your belongings.

Whilst there are many policies on the market, Villa Plus Travel insurance has been specially arranged with our customers in mind.

ARRANGING YOUR OWN TRAVEL INSURANCE


There are many different travel insurance policies available, and you are welcome to make your own arrangements. We would, however, ask that you check the cover carefully to ensure that it meets your needs.

Whatever you decide, we suggest that you take a copy of your policy with you, and make sure that you are aware of who you need to contact in the case of a medical emergency. It is a good idea to put the emergency telephone numbers shown in the policy into your mobile phone.

MEDICAL SCREENINGS


If you have an existing medical condition, it is important that you obtain the right cover for your condition at a reasonable price. 

You can purchase a standard policy through Villa Plus, but you must call our insurers on 0203 829 6556 ( 9am – 6pm Monday to Friday ) in order to declare any existing medical conditions.  

Our insurers cover hundreds of medical conditions as standard, however if the condition is serious they may require an additional premium to be paid or apply an additional medical excess to your policy. 

We want to ensure we are always putting our customers and their needs first. Therefore, if you feel the price you have been quoted is too high, or you are unable to find cover with us, we wanted to let you know that you can access a number of specialist providers on a directory provided by the Money and Pensions Service ( MaPS )  :  https://traveldirectory.moneyadviceservice.org.uk/en/listings   

What is the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS)?

MaPS is a free and impartial money advice service, set up by the Government to provide information and guides to help improve your finances. The MaPS travel insurance directory has been created for people who have potentially been refused cover, had cover excluded, or received a high additional premium in connection to their medical conditions, to allow them to shop around alternative providers.

POLICY EXCESS & PREMIUMS

You will have to pay the first £65 for any claim for cancellation (reduced to £25 when your claim is for loss of deposit only), abandonment, personal possessions, emergency medical expenses, curtailment or personal liability (this is increased to £200 when your claim is for damage to property).
