Villa Location
This villa is located within walking distance of Torreblanca Beach and some restaurants. The area also has its own golf course, as well as tennis courts, jet skiing and scuba diving facilities. The main resort of Fuengirola is just 5 minutes away by car, or 10 minutes' drive away in the opposite direction is Benalmadena. Both resorts have plenty of places to eat, drink and shop as well as fabulous beaches.

Location features

Local markets and shopping

The closest supermarket to pick up your holiday essentials is 5 minutes' drive away. There is a local market in Fuengirola on a Tuesday. Within the centre of town there are narrow streets full of small local shops offering a great selection of clothes, jewellery, shoes, boots and leather ware. On the outer road from Fuengirola, there is a very large shopping centre called Miramar selling all the popular international brands, as well as some local fare.

Bars and restaurants

Aside from the restaurants near to the villa, there are plenty more, along with cafes and bars along Fuengirola Promenade - you'll be spoilt for choice. There are also many restaurants to sample along the cobbled back streets. Plus, Fuengirola has its share of bars and pubs, discos and clubs, most of which are located near or on the seafront with even more to choose from at the marina.

Torreblanca Beach is just 10 minutes' walk away from the villa with plenty of beach bars and restaurants serving wonderful fish dishes, and the water sports on offer include pedalos and windsurfing. Alternatively, the long coastline of Fuengirola offers a variety of sandy beaches to be enjoyed with the promenade leading from one end of town to the other. The sandy beach of Benalmadena is well worth a visit too.

Family fun

On the ring road around Fuengirola there is a large waterpark called Parque Acuatico, providing fun for all the family. Within the town, the Bioparc Zoo is great for the younger members of the group. Alternatively, further afield near the Benalmadena Costa you can spend a terrific evening out at the well-known amusement park of Tivoli World, located in Arroyo de la Miel.

Places of interest

The picturesque villages of Mijas Pueblo and Benalmadena Pueblo are a short drive way where the narrow streets, whitewashed houses, wonderful panoramic views and historical interest will captivate any visitor. There are also numerous bars, restaurants and small shops in both villages. Alternatively, a trip to Malaga City is a popular choice for both historical reasons and shopping. Torreblanca itself benefits from the local train service which runs from the centre of Malaga into the centre of Fuengirola. Or, further away, you can visit the rock of Gibraltar - a great day out.

There is a local golf course in Torrequebrada, which is just a short drive away, or Mijas Golf offers 2 separate courses, around 15 minutes' drive from the villa.

Other activities

From the marinas of Benalmadena, Fuengirola or La Cala de Mijas you'll find a great selection of water sports including pedalos and jet skis, with Fuengirola offering a selection of boat trips too.

Every villa comes with its own manual, complete with details of the best restaurants, taxis, local amenities and activities. And of course, our reps are on hand to make sure you love your holiday more. If you need any advice or tips on the local area, they will be more than happy to help.

Activities and things to do
Parque Acuatico Mijas
One of the most popular water parks on the coast is the Mijas Aquapark where the Adventure River ride, a 300ft winding raft slide awaits you.

Try surfing the wave pool or the huge kamikaze slide, bathe in the clear blue waters of the lake, or enjoy the twists and turns while speeding through the labyrinth slide to the pool at the bottom.

For young children and tiny tots Aqualandia has two water playgrounds and a shallow activity pool. All this set in lush gardens with a variety of sports facilities, great restaurants, picnic and bbq areas.

Fuengirola Zoo
This new zoo, called Bioparc Fuengirola has created different zones with tropical planting, waterfalls and a river to reflect the natural habitats of the animals you can view there. Watch the Nile crocodiles basking in the sun and chimpanzees playing in the trees as well as Sumatra tigers, leopards, hippos, turtles, kangaroos and much more. In July and August, the zoo stays open until 11PM so you can see the animals who are at their most active at dusk. Guided tours in English are available.
Fuengirola Castle
High on a hill at the western end of Fuengirola is the Castillo Sohail dating from the 10th century. When the Christians took the town during the Reconquest in 1485 it was destroyed and rebuilt in 1730. Extensive renovations have taken place over the past couple of centuries and the building you see today is used mainly for concerts and exhibitions. Gardens have been laid on the surrounding area and there is an attractive path through a wooded area up to the top from where there are panoramic views out to sea and over Fuengirola town.
Cable car
Starting from outside the Tivoli Amusement Park in Arroyo de la Miel, on Benalmadena Costa you can enjoy the thrill of a 9 minute ride in a 4 person car to the upper station on the Calamorra mountain at 724 metres above sea level. Views from the top are breathtaking along the coast and across to Gibraltar and Morocco. There are refreshment facilities and donkey rides for the youngsters and if you are wearing strong enough shoes you can climb up a little further for that extra viewpoint.
This attractive course, situated between the sea and the mountains has numerous lakes and strategically placed wide bunkers with no less than 6 holes directly affected by both. With large greens, winding fairways and sometimes a strong wind, it is a challenging but enjoyable course requiring skill and patience. Beware of the 7th hole, which is downhill with a left curve and a lake and two bunkers surrounding the green. The course is also suited to competitions and has hosted important tournaments and professional reunions since its inauguration in 1976. On site is a golf school, hire shop restaurant and bar.
