Horseriding has a long tradition in Spain. Influenced by the Moors, a special kind of riding style has developed in Spain and is famous across the world. Whether you are a beginner or already an intermediate rider, you will find whatever suits you, Club Hipic Benissa Plaça Rei Jaume, 11 03720 Benissa Telephone: 0034 965 731 832 Riding school and rides into the surrounding area Los Caballos Buscarrons Norte, 30 03779 El Poblets, Denia Telephone: 0034 966 475 177 Swiss management, offering riding lessons and rides into the surroundings countryside.
Denia, the main town of the Marina Alta, is situated in the South-East of the Iberian Peninsular. To the North, the coastal area is known as 'Les Marines' and has sandy beaches and to the South, 'Les Rotes' has stony beaches and small cliffs.

Road communications are good, by the national main road N-332 and the motorway A-7. The town is 95 kms from Valencia and Alicante.

Denia is a vibrant old port town with traditional Spanish squares and cobbled streets lined with bars and restaurants full of character. The main attraction of this Spanish town is the magnificent beaches of fine sand stretching as far as the eyes can see to the north of the town. Denia is well-served with beach bars offering food and drink during daylight hours.

According to the geographical references of ancient historians, Denia is the ancient Greek colony called Hemeroskpeion, later called Dianium by the Romans. After the barbarian invasions, Denia reached the zenith of its importance during Arab rule when it became the capital of the Taifa kingdom of Denia, highly developed both culturally and economically.

Naturally, as a seaside town, Denia has always been a fishing port, although there was a time when raisin production and export was important in the town, as was toy manufacture. Nowadays, people make a living from tourism as well as from fishing where you will find fresh fish being unloaded and sorted daily along the port. Ferries sail regularly from Denia to Ibiza, carrying many passengers and goods.

Denia is dominated by the hill top castle, dating back to the Roman times which you are able to drive to or walk and there are other places of interest in the city, including churches, museums, monuments and parks. This Spanish city offers a wide range of cultural activities all year round which you can visit on your villa holiday such as concerts, exhibitions, and the theatre.

If you enjoy water sports on your holiday there is sailing, windsurfing and rowing. Denia also has a Yacht Club and a Marina, diving, tennis, football, golf, basketball, volleyball, chess and darts clubs and clubs for underwater sports. As well as all these activities, you can go rambling or hiking in the Montgo Natural Park which is located in the municipal areas of Denia and Javea or if you just want to relax, take a dip in the Mediterranean to cool off.

Denia is very much a family holiday resort and is a wonderful place to visit on your villa holiday to the Costa Blanca with plenty to do for everyone.
