Villa Description

Swimming pool, pool terrace and sunbathing area

Outside, Villa Susie has a terracotta tiled area with space for sun loungers around the private swimming pool and plenty of space to make the most of the warm Canarian climate. There is a brick BBQ and an exterior dining set - perfect for dining alfresco on the warm summer nights. There's also a pergola which provides some shade if it gets too hot.

Entrance

An arched wooden door from the street opens onto the pool terrace leading to the front door. There is on street parking if you decide to hire a car.

Living space

The lounge has comfortable seating, a flat screen TV and direct access to the private pool. Adjacent is the well-equipped kitchen with a dining table and chairs and access to the utility room. This is great for socialising whilst cooking up your holiday meals.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

On the ground floor there is a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, both sharing the facilities of a separate bathroom. Upstairs you'll find a double bedroom with a separate seating area and a door leading to a shared terrace as well as a twin bedroom with access to the same shared terrace. There is also a separate bathroom on the first floor. All bedrooms have ample storage space and are tastefully decorated.

Villa Location

Villa Susie is in a fantastic central location in Puerto del Carmen. This semi-detached house is only a 10 minute walk from the main Strip with its bars, restaurants and nightlife. The walk back to the villa is on a short uphill slope. The sandy beach of Playa Grande is located parallel to the main Strip and has many water sports available. The Biosfera Shopping Centre and the charming old town and harbour are around 20 minutes' walk away. Villa Susie sits between our Villas Ana Maria and Laurona.

Local markets and shopping

There is a mini market for your daily essentials just a short walk from the villa. Alternatively, there is a market in the old town and harbour area every Friday selling many local goodies from and around Lanzarote. If you're after some retail therapy, Biosfera Shopping Centre is around 20 minutes' walk away.

Bars and restaurants

You'll be around 10 minutes' walk from the main Strip with plenty of local and international restaurants. In the old town and harbour area there are restaurants in an elevated position with great views - ideal for a romantic meal.

Beaches

The beach of Playa Grande has golden sands and crystal-clear waters, 10 minutes' walk from the villa. You can hire sunbeds, parasols, and pedaloes here. Alternatively, Playa Chica Beach, located in the old town, is a small horse shoe bay, perfect for snorkelling and scuba diving, approximately 20 minutes' walk away.

Family fun

In the old town and harbour, there is a children's play park which is conveniently surrounded by restaurants. Rancho Texas Park provides entertainment for all ages and is a short taxi ride away. During the day there is an animal park with birds and animals from all over the world, canoes, play areas and the not to be missed parrot and falconry shows. At night the same place turns into a cowboy and Indian theme night with entertainment, BBQ, disco, line dancing and games.

Places of interest

The National Park of Timanfaya is probably the most famous place in Lanzarote. You can take the journey through the luna route passing some of the largest craters and the valley of tranquillity is not to be missed! Alternatively, the caves in the north of the island were formed when the lava flowed from the volcano, La Corona, down towards the sea. It has cooled down but the inside kept flowing so it created this underground tunnel which is just over 3 miles long and well worth a visit.

Golf

There is an 18-hole golf course a 10 minute drive away, located just behind Puerto del Carmen. A more established course is also available in Costa Teguise on the East Coast. A pitch and putt course is located in the Hesperia hotel in Playa Blanca.

Other activities

Puerto del Carmen has a long promenade which stretches all the way to the capital of Arrecife making it perfect for hiring a bike as there are cycle lanes along it. The promenade is also good for walking with plenty of places to stop for a drink.

Diving

There are many PADI dive centres, including several in both Puerto del Carmen and Playa Blanca, that cater for the first timer to the most experienced. From crystal clear shallow bays to night dives or shipwrecks the waters of the Atlantic offer an array of sea life waiting to be discovered. Rancho Texas

In Puerto del Carmen signposted along the sea front. By day a theme park with sea lions, pumas, reptiles, birds from all over the world, petting zoo, play areas, pony rides, parrot show, crocodiles and a not to be missed, a birds of prey demonstration. Restaurant for lunches. By night the ranch converts into a family night out with a cowboy and Indian theme. All you can eat BBQ and free flowing drinks. Family entertainment from the staff, line dancing display and lessons, lassoo show, live music, mechanical bull. Kids games in the tee pees and pony rides for children of all ages. Finishes with a disco until 11pm.
