Villa Description
Swimming pool and BBQ area

The swimming pool and sun terrace sit in front of the villa, and have wonderful views down towards the sea in the distance. A couple of steps up leads to a secluded, covered terrace with a table and chairs and a brick BBQ, perfect for dining on warm evenings. There's also a little chill out seating area on the far side of the pool. The terraces are fully enclosed with natural volcanic stone walls, as well as attractive cactus trees for added privacy, after which the villa is named.

There's a private driveway at the side of the villa for your hire car, with a path and 4 steps up to the entrance terrace. The pool area at the front of the villa is gated from the driveway, and the house is semi-detached with our Villa Cactus 2 next door - perfect for larger parties!

Living space

The lounge has comfortable seating around the flat screen TV, a large picture window overlooking the dining terrace towards the sea, and an impressive high wooden vaulted ceiling. The adjacent kitchen is well-equipped, and has a typical Canarian corner chimney as well as traditional handmade wooden units and a table and chairs. Plus, the windows overlook the volcanic mountains at the side of the house.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

Villa Cactus 3 has 3 sea-facing double bedrooms, all with unique Canarian-style beds and matching built-in bedside cabinets. The bedroom at the far end of the hall has an en suite shower room whilst the 2 remaining bedrooms share a separate bathroom with a ¾ length bath and overhead shower.

Villa Location
La Asomada Village, 10 minutes' drive from the coastal resort of Puerto del Carmen, is located on a hilltop with wonderful views of the surrounding area, down towards the sea. On a clear day you can even see the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura! There's a small local bar within a few minutes' walk, but venture into the main town for a much larger selection of places to eat and drink, shopping facilities and a choice of great beaches! Various other family attractions are also within a short drive.

Location features

Local market and shopping

It's only 5 minutes by car to the nearest supermarket for daily essentials or there's a larger supermarket in Puerto del Carmen. A small local market is also held in the resort every Friday morning, with a few stalls selling local handmade items. For a more serious session of retail therapy, visit the Biosfera Shopping Centre in Puerto del Carmen Old Town, where you can browse its many high street shops, open 7 days a week.

Bars and restaurants

The quaint little village of La Asomada has a local bar within a few minutes' walk of the villa, but head into Puerto del Carmen for a much larger choice of places to eat and drink. You can enjoy fresh fish and seafood in the old town, or venture into the newer part of the resort which has a never-ending choice of restaurants, cafes and lively bars. The Strip, running parallel to Playa Grande Beach, is lined with various dining venues, and really comes to life at night with many of the bars putting on live music and entertainment, as well as live sports.

The nearest beach to Villa Cactus 3 is Playa Chica, located in Puerto del Carmen Old Town. This lovely sandy little cove is perfect for snorkelling, scuba diving and swimming.

Or, if you prefer the hustle and bustle of a larger, more established beach, it's only a little further to Playa Grande, the main beach of Puerto del Carmen. Here, you can hire sunbeds and parasols, rent a pedalo, and enjoy lunch at any of the restaurants, bars and cafes which line the promenade at the back of the sand.

Family fun

Rancho Texas Park in Puerto del Carmen makes a great fun filled family day out. Visiting the park, you'll see plenty of animals including sealions, dolphins and white tigers, plus the parrot and birds of prey shows. There is also a small splash park with 2 water slides.

Or, if you prefer something on a bigger water-based scale, there are 2 waterparks on the island which also make a great day out, especially in warmer weather. The larger of the 2 parks, Aqua Park, is in Costa Teguise, or you can visit the popular Aqualava park in Playa Blanca, both within a 30 minute drive.

Places of interest

For nature-lovers, one of Lanzarote's most well-known attractions, Timanfaya National Park, is only 20 minutes' drive away and is certainly worth seeing during your stay. You can marvel at the park's dormant volcanoes, drive through the lava fields and even enjoy a camel ride!

Or, why not travel 40 minutes north to the beautiful Jameos del Agua Caves? The caves were formed from the lava flow inside the tunnel of the La Corona Volcano, one of the longest volcanic tunnels in the world, and are famously known as home of the rare blind albino crab.

There are 2 golf courses nearby. The closest is 10 minutes' drive away, in Puerto del Carmen, but there is also a more established course in Costa Teguise, 25 minutes away. Both courses have 18 holes and you can also hire clubs and buggies.

Other activities

Lanzarote is perfect for walking, cycling and hiking, and there are various water sport facilities on offer nearby too. The promenade along the seafront in Puerto del Carmen is particularly pleasant, especially during the evening after dinner, as the sun goes down
