Holiday Villas in Costa Teguise

The purpose built resort of Costa Teguise is suitable for families, couples and friends alike. It’s situated around 10km north of the capital Arrecife and the island’s international airport. Easily navigable on foot, the wide pedestrianised promenade and broad tree lined avenues making strolling around easy and enjoyable. There are 4 excellent beaches, with Las Cucharas being the largest. A steady, pleasant breeze makes the bays ideal for watersports. Why not try windsurfing at one of the schools down at the beach? Children are well catered for here too, as Costa Teguise is home to the fantastic Aquapark, a sizeable waterpark with plenty of slides along with paintball and go-karting. There’s also the Lanzarote Aquarium, a lovely place to spend a few hours looking at the marine life. If a day on the green is more your speed, you’ve come to the right place. Located at the foot of a volcano and with stunning ocean views, Costa Teguise golf course is perfect for playing all year round. It’s just 5 minutes’ drive from the centre of the resort and its magnificent beaches.

Costa Teguise is well equipped for essentials shopping, with 2 large supermarkets and plenty of mini markets dotted around. Each Friday evening, there is a local market in Pueblo Marinero square where you can pick up handbags, jewellery and watches. Teguise market, the largest on the island, takes place each Sunday. It’s approximately 20 minutes’ drive from the resort and is serviced well by local buses. Spend your morning perusing stalls of fresh produce, art, crafts and much more – a great place to pick up a souvenir or two.

There are countless bars and restaurants to enjoy that offer a range of international cuisine. From pizzerias and steak houses to Chinese restaurants, all tastes are easily catered for. From British pubs to more traditional Canarian bars, there are plenty of watering holes to choose from. While the resort isn’t overly lively, there’s still plenty of choice. You can also sample some authentic Spanish cuisine in many restaurants.

Costa Teguise is a great choice for beach lovers. Las Cucharas is the central and most popular beach – great for watersports enthusiasts and sun worshippers alike. The beaches of Los Charcos and Jabillo are quieter spots perfect for swimming and snorkeling. For a more rugged option, try Bastian Beach to the west with its mix of rocky and sandy terrain. All options offer facilities with bars and restaurants close by.

Older children may like to try their hand at watersports down at one of the beaches. The steady, pleasant breeze makes for ideal windsurfing conditions. There’s also a fantastic waterpark known as ‘Aquapark’. Besides plentiful slides, it has paintball and go-karting to keep little ones entertained. Costa Teguise is also home to Lanzarote Aquarium where you can gaze at fascinating species from tiger fish to sharks.

The much loved Rancho Texas Park is just outside Puerto del Carmen and is home to exotic birds and animals, a water zone for kids and falconry displays. At night, the place comes alive with Cowboys and Indians themed entertainment, with a BBQ, disco, line dancing and games – great fun for all the family!

For golf lovers, Costa Teguise course is a popular choice located just 5 minutes’ drive away from the resort. The views of the ocean and surrounding volcanoes make it a scenic setting. Approximately 25 minutes’ drive south is the resort of Puerto del Carmen, with excellent beaches and plenty of lively bars and restaurants. The Cesar Manrique attractions to the north are also well worth a visit. Explore the cactus garden or travel to the remarkable observation deck that is the Mirador del Rio.
