Villa Location
Villa Vista Dunes is ideally situated just a 10 minute drive from the bustling resort centre of Corralejo. You won’t be far from all the action that Corralejo has to offer, from the sandy shores of Waikiki beach, to live music and a great choice of restaurants. Make sure you see the famous Corralejo sand dunes, just a short drive away. Kids will also love the Acua Waterpark, just 5 minutes’ drive from the villa. Plus, there is a golf course conveniently situated on the complex. Our villas Aura, Mia and Topaz are all nearby.

Location features

Local markets and shopping

Down in the former fishing village of Corralejo, there’s a lively market held on a Tuesday and Friday, where you can grab yourself a bargain to take back home. For more authentic goods, head to Corralejo old town, where you’ll find small, independent boutiques offering locally made items, such as leather bags and jewellery. For your holiday basics, there’s also a supermarket a 10 minute walk away.

Bars and restaurants

Corralejo’s main street offers a wide choice of international dining options, as well as local cuisine. If you fancy something more traditional, head to the harbour area and opt for the catch of the day or some tasty tapas dishes. For those looking to showcase their vocal talents in a karaoke bar or be entertained by a cabaret show or live band, try Avenida del Generalissimo Franco, which runs between the town square and the harbour.

Beaches

You’re spoilt for choice with beautiful beaches in and around Corralejo. Waikiki beach is your closest, which is a secluded, sandy bay with gentle waves – perfect for families. The stunning beaches Grandes Playas and Flag, very popular for watersports, are also just a 10 minute drive away.

Family fun

Thrill seeking youngsters will love the Acua Waterpark (open April to October), a 5 minute drive away. Brave the rapids, slides and wave pools – there’s also multiple dining outlets here for much needed refreshments after a day splashing about! A little further afield are the fantastic Oasis Park Zoo and Botanical Gardens of La Lajita – 1½ hours drive South of Corralejo.

Places of interest

For a little culture, Antigua village - 1 hour away - is well worth a visit. As one of the oldest villages in Fuerteventura, you’ll see interesting architecture such as the pretty white windmill, and a charming traditional church open to visitors. No visit to Fuertevenutra would be complete without a visit to the splendid sand dunes. Take a 10 minute drive from the villa, park up, and prepare to marvel at the staggering dunes. Head upwards for fantastic views over the island and out to the blue seas.

Golf

On your villa’s complex is the Mirador de Lobos golf course, which is a 9 hole pitch and put course. For a more extensive course, you could try Golf Club Fuerteventura. It is the island’s first 18 hole course, and well worth the hour’s drive for golf lovers.

Other activities and places of interest

If you’re feeling energetic, there are plenty of hikes on the island that grant you the best views of the varying landscape of Fuerteventura. Cliffs, sand dunes and volcanic plains are just some of the terrains on the island. Start a hike from Betancuria, 1 hour’s drive away, and follow an intermediate loop that takes you through the centre of the island. For even more hikes, you could take a trip to the nearby island of Lobos, where snorkelling is also possible.

Remember...

Every villa comes with its own manual, complete with details of the best restaurants, taxis, local amenities and activities. And of course, our reps are on hand to make sure you love your holiday more. If you need any advice or tips on the local area, they will be more than happy to help.

Activities and things to do
Activity
Acua Waterpark
How brave are you? Could you cope with chutes like the Black Hole? Or hurtle at 19mph down a multi-lane racer chute? Baku Waterpark is dare-devil heaven, plus there’s also a wave pool, a lazy river, and a couple of whirlpools. The park offers a gentler experience for tiny tots and those looking to relax. Younger children are also well catered for with and can have fun splashing about in shallow waters, racing down animal-shaped slides and dancing under mushroom.
Activity
Antigua Village
Built in the 18th century, Antigua is one of the oldest villages on the island.
The present population of Antigua is around 3000 and the total area is 250 sq.km.

The picturesque church of Cruz de los Caldos, that dominates the town, was built in 1785 and stands amongst well kept trees and shrubbery. The church is usually open to the general public in the mornings and sometimes during the afternoons. Next to the church is the beautiful village square which is filled with flowers all year round.

Antigua also has a fully restored windmill which is now a cultural centre and a popular tourist attraction. Inside is a craft shop selling local handicraft and art.

Despite being a fairly sleepy village, Antigua has a few social facilities for the local people such as a school, library, post office and a clinic. The church hall is used for a general meeting point.

Museum opening times

Activity
Fuerteventura Golf Club
This is an excellent course which hosted the Spanish Open Tournament in 2004.

Despite the constant Canarian sunshine and little rain, the golf course has beautiful greens but the winds provide a challenge for all golfers. There are 3 lakes and other natural hazards.

The golf course also boasts a clubhouse, the Elba Palace Golf Resort Hotel, which homes the pro shop and the resident PGA professional. It has a driving range, chipping area, practice bunker and putting green.

Activity
Watersports
The strong surf around some parts of the island make Fuerteventura one of the best spots in the world for surfing. The reliable winds and a variety of water conditions mean wind and kite surfers have all they need to enjoy these activities.

There is surf to suit all standards of surfer from the novice to the most experienced and adventurous surfer. Lessons are available for any of the disciplines at various centres around the island.

Various watersport schools can be found throughout Corralejo and on Flag Beach, all of which offer instruction, sporting equipment, wetsuits and transport for body boarding, sand boarding and surfing. Ask about their clubs for children. Schools are also available in Caleta de Fuste at the watersports area in the harbour beach.
