Villa Description

Swimming pool, BBQ area and outside space

Villa Sueno has a fantastic private pool and spacious sunbathing terrace where you can relax and admire the scenery. The BBQ area is at the side of the house, accessed from the kitchen and there is also a shaded stone table and benches for alfresco dining.

Entrance

There is space to park your hire car on the street in front of the villa. The villa is accessed via a wooden gate with a path leading up to the front door.

Living space

The lounge has comfortable seating, a flat screen TV and ornamental fireplace. The dining room and fully equipped kitchen are on the opposite side of the entrance hall, with a small seating area.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

There are 2 twin bedrooms on the ground floor, one with an en suite bathroom, the other with an en suite shower room. Both bedrooms also have patio doors opening onto the pool terrace.
The double bedroom commands the entire first floor. There is an en suite bathroom and dressing area, with access to a spacious private balcony overlooking the pool to the open sea beyond.

Villa Location

Villa Sueno is in a great position. Es Canutells has a selection of places to eat as well as a small shop all within a few minutes' walk of Villa El Sueno, whilst a greater choice of facilities are only a short drive away. Villa Sueno is a great choice for anyone not wanting to rely on their hire car every day. The villa is also within easy reach of the resorts beautiful cove beach and seafront restaurant - perfect for a lazy, relaxing getaway, and a true taste of Spain.

Shops and restaurants

You'll find a couple of restaurants and a souvenir shop, which also sells basic provisions, within a 5 minute walk. A little further along this winding street leads down to the seafront where there is a traditional restaurant overlooking the water. Venture into the nearby village of San Clemente for a proper supermarket and larger choice of shops and places to eat. The village is 10 minutes away by car, or you can catch the local bus which passes through on its way to Mahon.

Beaches

The small but pleasant beach of Es Canutells is around half a mile from the villa and is the ideal place to spend a lazy day in the sun. Serious beachgoers can venture into either Binibeca or Calan Porter, 20 minutes' drive either side of Es Canutells, where you'll find much bigger beaches.

Family fun

Both the newly opened Splash! waterpark in Biniancolla and the popular Lloc de Menorca Zoo in Alaior are with a 20 minute drive.

Places of interest

Any of the south eastern resorts are reachable within a short drive and make for a great day trip. Es Canutells is also only 15 minutes' drive from the capital, Mahon. The town and harbour both have a huge choice of chic shops and restaurants - well worth a visit!
Other island highlights include the scenery from Monte Toro, the island's high point, and the historic town of Ciutadella.

Golf

The island's only golf course is 30 minutes' drive north, in the resort of Son Parc.

Activities and things to do

Tennis

There are tennis courts in almost every resort, all of which hire out equipment. Try the facilities at Santo Tomas, Calan Porter, Calan Forcat, Arenal Den Castell, Calan Bosch or S'algar.

Scuba Diving

With its underwater caves and coral encrusted rock formations, Menorca is recognised as one of the most spectacular diving locations in the Med. for scuba diving and snorkelling. Dive schools located around the island provide daily excursions and equipment for visiting qualified divers.
For the beginner - now is your chance - the qualified instructors can have you scuba diving in less than 2 hours! Parascending is now made easy with modern techniques of launch and recovery from the boats' platform - there's no need to even get wet! The not so adventurous are normally allowed, for a small fee, to ride along in the boat.

Splash Waterpark

Splash Waterpark is the newest of the islands 3 parks and can be found in Biniancolla, halfway between Binibeca and Punta Prima on the East coast of the island.

Lloc de Menorca Zoo

Lloc de Menorca Zoo, located on the main road from Mahon to Alaior, is sure to be a hit with the kids! The zoo has a range of creatures from farm animals to more exotic zoo animals and children will also be able to pet some of the farm animals.

The zoo also has a small splash pool, 2 museums, a picnic area, snack bar and a gift shop.

Monte Toro

El Toro, at 360 metres above sea level, is the highest peak on Menorca. In the centre of the island it towers above the small town of Es Mercadal. Take the time to drive up the steep 3.2km climb to the summit and see the whole of the island spread out beneath you. There are sea views on all four sides and, on a clear day, the view stretches to the north coast of Mallorca.
The mountain is crowned by a convent which has become an important centre of pilgrimage and the neat vegetable and herb gardens beneath the terraces are still tended to by the community of nuns who live there. Visit the tiny chapel or have lunch in the rustic café and browse around the shop, packed with souvenirs and local produce.
