Villas in Calan Bosch Resort

Centred around the bustling marina, Calan Bosch is a popular resort set on the South West coast of Menorca. Many of our villas are within walking distance of the marina, where you’ll find lots of restaurants and bars to choose from as well as a good selection of shops. Ideal for families, children will love spending time at the local waterpark or making sandcastles at the sandy beach. The resort is also a short drive from Ciutadella, the former capital of the island, as well as several attractions and place to visit.

Exploring Calan Bosch On Villa Holidays

There are plenty of mini markets within the resort to stock up on daily essentials and groceries. You’ll find a small shopping complex by the marina which has stores selling beachwear, clothes and souvenirs too. The nearest twice weekly market is held in the charming old town of Ciutadella, around 15 minutes’ drive north, which is also home to a larger choice of chic shops and boutiques to browse.

Many of the restaurants in Calan Bosch centre around its bustling marina. You’re sure to find something to suit all taste buds, from locally caught fish and traditional paella to Chinese, Indian and burgers. The resort has a great atmosphere at night with many bars offering live music.

For a more unique dining experience, visit the Lighthouse Es Far d’Artrutx, perched on the seafront on the far west of the resort. The older part of the lighthouse has been converted into a restaurant, where you can dine day or night right by the sea, and the light can be seen up to 19 nautical miles away. Due to its location, the restaurant is well-known for its stunning sunset views and great sea food dishes.

There are 2 great beaches in the area. The first is that of Calan Bosch itself, on the far side of the marina, with soft sand and clear, shallow waters. Sunbeds and parasols can be hired in the high season, while the facilities of the marina are only a few minutes away if you need a break from the heat.

The second beach is Son Xoriguer, a few minutes by car or 10 minutes on foot, further along the coast from the marina. Although smaller than Calan Bosch Beach, Son Xoriguer is a very pleasant, sandy little bay, with several restaurants and a couple of shops at the back of the sand. Great for snorkelling, you’ll also find watersports on offer during the peak summer months.

Children will love splashing around in the pools, zooming down the waterslides and racing each other on the go-kart track at AquaRock Waterpark, a couple of minutes’ walk from the marina. Adults can relax at the park restaurant and bar which serves traditional Spanish cuisine as well as fast food, ice cream and a selection of drinks.

Or, why not take to the seas and explore Menorca’s stunning coastline? From the marina you can arrange boat hire or take a glass-bottom boat excursion.

Calan Bosch is approximately 9 kilometres from the island’s ancient capital, Ciutadella. The town’s huge choice of shops and places to eat, market and cathedral make it a great day trip. The beautiful harbour is the perfect place to relax with an alfresco lunch or glass of wine.

Also in the area near Ciutadella is Lithica, a sandstone quarry with beautiful gardens and a huge, ancient stone labyrinth. This is a wonderful place to visit during the evening, with spectacular sunsets and cooler temperatures.
