Villa Isi is in a fantastic position, 10 minutes' walk from the centre of Calan Forcat, where there is a huge selection of restaurants and shops, plus the island's largest waterpark all along the main street. The largest sandy beach in the area, Calan Blanes, is 15 minutes' walk away, but the smaller, more natural coves of Cala Picas and Calan Forcat are within easy reach too. This 3 bedroom house is bright, airy and well-equipped, and includes air conditioning/heating in the bedrooms, pool heating and WiFi.

Villa Description

Swimming pool and BBQ area

The swimming pool is at the front of the villa, but is surrounded by fencing and hedging for a good deal of privacy. The terrace is covered if you prefer the comfort of the shade, plus there's also a wooden pergola with a table and chairs and a BBQ for alfresco dining.

Entrance

This semi-detached villa has plenty of parking on the street at the front if you choose to hire a car. The grounds are fully enclosed and the main entrance is by the dining terrace.

Living space

The lounge and dining area are combined and have comfortable seating, a table and chairs and a flat screen TV, with patio doors opening out onto the dining terrace. The fully equipped kitchen is adjacent and has all mod cons for a relaxing, enjoyable stay.

Villa Isi has 3 colourful and homely bedrooms, each with plenty of storage space. The well-proportioned double bedroom has an en suite shower room whilst the 2 twin bedrooms share a separate bathroom.

Villa Location

If you want a villa in a good central location, Villa Isi is ideal. The villa sits in a residential area, but is only 10 minutes' walk from the hustle and bustle of shops and restaurants in the centre of Calan Forcat. This area has merged with neighbouring Calan Blanes over time to create one of Menorca's largest holiday resorts with plenty to see and do, including the popular Aqua Center Waterpark! Or, if it's beaches you're after, you'll be spoilt for choice with 3 picturesque coves in the local area.

Local markets and shopping

In the centre of Calan Forcat you'll find various grocery shops for daily essentials, as well as gift and beachwear shops. The nearest market is held twice a week in the nearby town of Ciutadella, an easy 10 minute drive or local bus journey away.

Bars and restaurants

Calan Forcat/Calan Blanes and the surrounding areas are full of restaurants and bars catering for all tastes and budgets. You'll find everything from pizzerias, Indian and Chinese venues to traditional paella and tapas bistros. There are plenty of bars with evening entertainment and karaoke, and several restaurants and bars have small play areas for children.

Beaches

A pleasant 15 minute walk through the resort will bring you to Calan Blanes Beach, the largest beach in the area, with a couple of good beach bars and a playground by the seafront. At the end of the main street, a short track leads to the small natural cove of Cala Picas, or, on the far side of the resort, is the rocky inlet of Calan Forcat. These areas have very limited facilities but are great for a homemade picnic, sunbathing and swimming.

Family fun

The resort is a great choice for families and there are plenty of activities to keep children entertained. Younger children will love the popular Parc Aire which has trampolines, giant inflatables and a snack bar, located along the main street. The island's largest waterpark, Aqua Center, is directly opposite, and has various pools and water-based rides, as well as a restaurant.

Places of interest

The island's old capital of Ciutadella is 10 minutes' drive, or a short local bus journey away, and is well worth seeing during your stay. The town is home to Menorca's only cathedral, as well as a popular market and a huge choice of places to eat, drink and shop. The harbour is particularly picturesque and has a selection of good restaurants lining the waterfront where you can enjoy spectacular sunset views as you dine.

Golf

The island's only golf course is in Son Parc, around 40 minutes' drive away.

Other activities

If you do decide to hire a car and see more of the island, Menorca's highest point, Monte Toro, is well worth visiting. It has a cafe and gift shop as well as incredible views of the island. The capital, Mahon, is approximately an hours' drive away and has a huge choice of shops and restaurants, as well as a museum. Plus, you can also arrange a glass bottom boat trip from its harbour, the second largest natural harbour in the world!

Aqua Center Waterpark

There are 3 water parks on the island, 2 on the West coast and one on the East coast of the island.

Aqua Center Waterpark in Calan Forcat is the largest of the islands 3 waterparks. There is a go-kart track as well as a swimming pool and waterslides, and a games arcade with a covered eating area.

Bouncy Castles

Some of the resorts on the island have bouncy castles and trampolines which are very popular with younger children. Aqua Centre and Park Aire in Calan Forcat all have bouncy castles and inflatables while the Coves Noves Complex in Arenal Den Castell has a inflatables, bouncy slides, mini golf and go-karting!

Castillo Menorca

Castillo Menorca, located on the main road between Ferreries and Cuitadella, has an adults pool with a water slide and a childrens pool, as well as mini golf, trampolines, a childrens play area, a shopping complex selling leather goods, jewellery, ceramics and gifts, a snack bar and a fantastic go-karting track! WiFi is also available.

In addition to the above, several resorts also have water slides or splash pools, the largest being in Son Bou. Smaller slides for younger children can be found in Cala Galdana and Cala Blanca.

Lloc de Menorca Zoo

Lloc de Menorca Zoo, located on the main road from Mahon to Alaior, is sure to be a hit with the kids! The zoo has a range of creatures from farm animals to more exotic zoo animals and children will also be able to pet some of the farm animals.

The zoo also has a small splash pool, 2 museums, a picnic area, snack bar and a gift shop.

Monte Toro

El Toro, at 360 metres above sea level, is the highest peak on Menorca. In the centre of the island it towers above the small town of Es Mercadal. Take the time to drive up the steep 3.2km climb to the summit and see the whole of the island spread out beneath you. There are sea views on all four sides and, on a clear day, the view stretches to the north coast of Mallorca.
The mountain is crowned by a convent which has become an important centre of pilgrimage and the neat vegetable and herb gardens beneath the terraces are still tended to by the community of nuns who live there. Visit the tiny chapel or have lunch in the rustic café and browse around the shop, packed with souvenirs and local produce.
