Villa Description

Swimming pool, BBQ area and outside space

Outside you'll have your own brick BBQ and dining area, ideal for practising your alfresco culinary skills! There is also ample space around the swimming pool to sunbathe or enjoy a game of pool.
To the side of the villa there is a brick BBQ area which makes for perfect open-air dining.

Entrance

A traditional olive wood gate opens onto the villa grounds, with a pathway to the entrance at the front of the house. There is plenty of on-street parking space available for your hire car.

Living space

The living area is of a typical Spanish design. The lounge and dining area flow through into the fully equipped kitchen, and patio doors onto the pool terrace keep the whole space bright and fresh.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

The double bedroom has an en suite bathroom and a large window overlooking the swimming pool. There are 2 twin bedrooms that share a separate bathroom with a half-bath and overhead shower.

Villa Location

Situated in the heart of Cala Blanca, Villa Marta has everything you need for an enjoyable holiday right on its doorstep. A choice of shops and places to eat can be found within a few minutes' walk. This small but vibrant resort also has a picturesque sandy beach, a great choice for beach lovers! For anyone that does hire a car, Cala Blanca also has good links to the resorts of Calan Forcat/Calan Blanes, Calan Bosch and the historic town of Ciutadella! Villa Rincon is along the same street.

Within a 5 minute walk of Villa Marta you'll find a choice of well-stocked supermarkets, several bars and restaurants, gift shops, an internet café and gaming arcade!

Beaches

The beach is only 5 minutes' walk from the villa. Cala Blanca has a beautiful sandy bay overlooked by a choice of good restaurants. It's west-facing position makes it the ideal setting to watch the sun set over the water.

Family fun

By the beach there are water slides for children and a seating area overlooking the sea. There are also 2 waterparks on this side of the island - Aquarock in Calan Bosch and Aquacenter in Calan Forcat, both within a 20 minute drive.

Places of interest

The historic town of Ciutadella is only 3 miles away and is easily reachable by car or local bus. The town is home to the island's only cathedral as well as some amazing architecture, chic shops, ancient palaces and astounding courtyards! The beautiful harbour is also the ideal setting for a spot of lunch or an evening meal overlooking the boats.
Other local highlights include the resort of Calan Forcat/Calan Blanes, and the stylish Calan Bosch Marina.

Golf

The island's only golf course is 45 minutes' drive away in the resort of Son Parc.

Other activities

A popular and fun way of exploring the area is to hire bikes or a 4-wheeled pedal carriage, which can carry 6 people. The island also has a good choice of water sport facilities available. There is a scuba diving centre catering for beginners as well as more experienced divers at Cala Blanca bay.

Activities and things to do

Castillo Menorca

Castillo Menorca, located on the main road between Ferreries and Cuitadella, has an adults pool with a water slide and a childrens pool, as well as mini golf, trampolines, a childrens play area, a shopping complex selling leather goods, jewellery, ceramics and gifts, a snack bar and a fantastic go-karting track! WiFi is also available.

In addition to the above, several resorts also have water slides or splash pools, the largest being in Son Bou. Smaller slides for younger children can be found in Cala Galdana and Cala Blanca.

Scuba Diving

With its underwater caves and coral encrusted rock formations, Menorca is recognised as one of the most spectacular diving locations in the Med. for scuba diving and snorkelling. Dive schools located around the island provide daily excursions and equipment for visiting qualified divers.
For the beginner - now is your chance - the qualified instructors can have you scuba diving in less than 2 hours! Parascending is now made easy with modern techniques of launch and recovery from the boats' platform - there's no need to even get wet! The not so adventurous are normally allowed, for a small fee, to ride along in the boat.

Lloc de Menorca Zoo

Lloc de Menorca Zoo, located on the main road from Mahon to Alaior, is sure to be a hit with the kids! The zoo has a range of creatures from farm animals to more exotic zoo animals and children will also be able to pet some of the farm animals.

The zoo also has a small splash pool, 2 museums, a picnic area, snack bar and a gift shop.

Monte Toro

El Toro, at 360 metres above sea level, is the highest peak on Menorca. In the centre of the island it towers above the small town of Es Mercadal. Take the time to drive up the steep 3.2km climb to the summit and see the whole of the island spread out beneath you. There are sea views on all four sides and, on a clear day, the view stretches to the north coast of Mallorca.
The mountain is crowned by a convent which has become an important centre of pilgrimage and the neat vegetable and herb gardens beneath the terraces are still tended to by the community of nuns who live there. Visit the tiny chapel or have lunch in the rustic café and browse around the shop, packed with souvenirs and local produce.

Golf Son Parc

There is only one golf course on the island, set amongst the pine trees in Son Parc, on the North coast. It has recently been extended from 9 holes to 18 and is open 365 days per year.
There is an 18 bay floodlit driving range with the latest technology - Swingcam.
Junior golfers are welcome if accompanied by an adult and the golf shop stocks equipment for purchase or hire for children of 5 years upwards.
The dress code is lenient - shorts, t-shirts and trainers are acceptable but NOT sleeveless vests, swimwear, flipflops etc.

If golf plays an important part of your holiday then it is wise to book in advance.
