Villa Location
Villa Camelias is situated on the outskirts of Binibeca, around 15 minutes' walk from the beautiful sandy beach and a choice of shops and places to eat. The village centre, Binibeca Vell, is a few minutes' drive away, and has a much larger choice of amenities, plus the seafront here is one of the most photographed sights on the island! Anyone with a hire car can reach the nearby waterpark in 5 minutes, as well as several other family attractions, sightseeing opportunities and the island's capital, Mahon.

Location features

Local markets and shopping

The nearby Cala Torret commercial centre has a mini market for daily essentials. Binibeca Vell is only 5 minutes' drive away, where you'll find several quaint souvenir shops along it's maze of cobbled streets. Keen shoppers might also like to head to nearby Sant Luis, or into Mahon which has a huge choice of both local and designer shops, as well as a lively street market.

Bars and restaurants

The commercial centre is around 15 minutes' walk downhill towards the seafront, where you'll find several good restaurants, cafes, bars and a bakery. For a greater choice of more traditional eating places, venture into Binibeca Vell. The village centre is pedestrianised with the cobbled streets all lined with quaint restaurants. Plus, the beach can be easily reached on foot and has a great beach bar right on the seafront!

Binibeca's beautiful sandy beach is a short walk away. Its soft pale sand and shallow clear water make it popular with families, and sunbeds and parasols can be hired.

Family fun

Neighbouring Punta Prima is home to one of the islands 3 waterparks, Splash! Or for anyone who does hire a car, the popular Lloc de Menorca Zoo is within easy reach. The resort also has a mini golf course.

Places of interest

Binibeca Vell has a maze of whitewashed houses down cobbled streets, overlooking the open sea - one of the most photographed spots on the island! For a taste of traditional Spanish life, Sant Luis is a 10 minute drive inland. Or visit the capital of Mahon, just a 15 minute drive away. In the evening the harbour side comes alive with restaurants and bars of every type and style.

The islands only golf course is in Son Parc on the North coast, around 40 minutes' drive from Binibeca.

Other activities

There's a scuba diving centre by the seafront, or you can hire pedaloes at the beach. Further afield you can enjoy a day trip to Mahon, particularly known for its incredible harbour, well worth seeing.
Or why not venture up to Menorca's highest peak, Monte Toro? The drive up to the top is an adventure in itself with fantastic views over the island. At the top is a statue of 'Jesus of the Sacred Heart' and a viewing platform where you can enjoy panoramic views over the whole of Menorca and even across the water to Mallorca on a clear day. There is also a restaurant with tables outside so you can admire the scenery as you stop for a bite to eat and a good gift shop, as well as a garden cared for by the community of nuns who live there.

Every villa comes with its own manual, complete with details of the best restaurants, taxis, local amenities and activities. And of course, our reps are on hand to make sure you love your holiday more. If you need any advice or tips on the local area, they will be more than happy to help.

Activities and things to do
Splash Waterpark
Splash Waterpark is the newest of the islands 3 parks and can be found in Biniancolla, halfway between Binibeca and Punta Prima on the East coast of the island.

Menorca is definitely the place to be for anyone wanting to experience watersports on their villa holiday! Professional centres with modern teaching techniques and equipment to hire make it all so easy, even for beginners. Menorca's prevalent winds and summers breezes provide perfect conditions for windsurfing or sailing and diving is also very popular with a great deal of sea life and underwaters caves to be explored!|Some of the main beach resorts have windsurf boards and small sailing dinghys but Fornells, on the North coast of the island, in particular, is home to some of the best windsurfing and sailing facilities in Europe.
Mini Golf
A firm favourite with the kids, there are several, well kept courses around the island.

Castillo Menorca, just outside of Ciutadella, has a great mini golf course as well as various pools, shops, childrens entertainment and a restaurant.

All the courses have a cafe or restaurant adjacent where parents can relax and keep a watchful eye. The resorts of Santo Tomas, Cala Blanca and Cala Galdana all have mini golf facilities as well as Goody Goody Park in Calan Bosch.

Monte Toro
El Toro, at 360 metres above sea level, is the highest peak on Menorca. In the centre of the island it towers above the small town of Es Mercadal. Take the time to drive up the steep 3.2km climb to the summit and see the whole of the island spread out beneath you. There are sea views on all four sides and, on a clear day, the view stretches to the north coast of Mallorca.
The mountain is crowned by a convent which has become an important centre of pilgrimage and the neat vegetable and herb gardens beneath the terraces are still tended to by the community of nuns who live there. Visit the tiny chapel or have lunch in the rustic café and browse around the shop, packed with souvenirs and local produce.
Lloc de Menorca Zoo
Lloc de Menorca Zoo, located on the main road from Mahon to Alaior, is sure to be a hit with the kids! The zoo has a range of creatures from farm animals to more exotic zoo animals and children will also be able to pet some of the farm animals.

The zoo also has a small splash pool, 2 museums, a picnic area, snack bar and a gift shop.
