Villa Location
Villa Jaime is a semi-detached villa only 5 minutes' walk from one of the best sandy beaches on the island! Steps and a pathway, accessed from across the street, lead through the resort to the beachfront below. A choice of bars, restaurants and a local shop can be found further along the same street, as well as down by the seafront. Several attractions, the golf course, alternative beaches and family activities are within a short drive, and for larger parties, Villa Bellavista is next door.

Location features

Local market and shopping

You'll find a mini market just along the street for daily essentials and BBQ supplies. The resort also has a good selection of shops selling souvenirs and beach accessories. For anyone wanting a more serious session of retail therapy, head 30 minutes' drive into the island capital, Mahon. Here you'll find a twice weekly market, as well as several chic shops and boutiques in the centre and around its famous harbour.

Bars and restaurants

Villa Jaime is perfectly positioned for dining out. Turn in either direction out of your villa for a choice of eateries ranging from pizzerias, Chinese venues and steak houses to more traditional paella and tapas bistros. A couple of restaurants are also located down on the beachfront where you can spend all afternoon enjoying the sun and wonderful sea views over a bite to eat. The resort also has a good selection of bars, some offering evening entertainment.

The pristine beach of Arenal den Castell is widely believed to be one of the best on the island. The expanse of sand runs in a perfect horseshoe-shaped arc and has 2 headlands which come so close together, the beach could almost appear to be a lake. This makes it great for children with shallow, calm waters. The beach has sunbeds and parasols for hire and in the height of summer, pedaloes can also be rented for enjoying leisurely trips round the coast from the sea.

Family fun

The nearby Coves Noves Complex, 15 minutes' walk away, on the outskirts of the resort, has trampolines, games and bouncy castles during the summer, as well as a cafe. The popular Lloc de Menorca Zoo is a pleasant 20 minute drive away, too.

Places of interest

Arenal den Castell is ideally placed to explore the island, being located midway along the North Coast of the island. Mahon is well worth visiting, home to one of Menorca's most famous attractions, the second largest natural harbour in the world! It's also full of dining and shopping opportunities. The former ancient capital, Ciutadella, is around 40 minutes' drive across the island, home to Menorca's only cathedral, as well as a never-ending choice of shops and restaurants.

Another of the island's highlights is Monte Toro, Menorca's highest peak. The views from the top are simply stunning, and there's a great gift shop and cafe too.

Neighbouring Son Parc is a 10-15 minute drive away, home to Menorca's only golf course. The course has 18 holes, as well as a driving range, tennis courts and a great club house with a dining terrace overlooking the fairway.

Other activities

A little further along the coast is the town of Fornells, a traditional fishing village with a great selection of seafood restaurants. The town is also known for its good water sports facilities, which include kayaking, sailing and windsurfing.

Every villa comes with its own manual, complete with details of the best restaurants, taxis, local amenities and activities. And of course, our reps are on hand to make sure you love your holiday more. If you need any advice or tips on the local area, they will be more than happy to help.

Activities and things to do
Golf Son Parc
There is only one golf course on the island, set amongst the pine trees in Son Parc, on the North coast. It has recently been extended from 9 holes to 18 and is open 365 days per year.
There is an 18 bay floodlit driving range with the latest technology - Swingcam.
Junior golfers are welcome if accompanied by an adult and the golf shop stocks equipment for purchase or hire for children of 5 years upwards.
The dress code is lenient - shorts, t-shirts and trainers are acceptable but NOT sleeveless vests, swimwear, flipflops etc.

If golf plays an important part of your holiday then it is wise to book in advance.
Menorca is definitely the place to be for anyone wanting to experience watersports on their villa holiday! Professional centres with modern teaching techniques and equipment to hire make it all so easy, even for beginners. Menorca's prevalent winds and summers breezes provide perfect conditions for windsurfing or sailing and diving is also very popular with a great deal of sea life and underwaters caves to be explored!|Some of the main beach resorts have windsurf boards and small sailing dinghys but Fornells, on the North coast of the island, in particular, is home to some of the best windsurfing and sailing facilities in Europe.
Monte Toro
El Toro, at 360 metres above sea level, is the highest peak on Menorca. In the centre of the island it towers above the small town of Es Mercadal. Take the time to drive up the steep 3.2km climb to the summit and see the whole of the island spread out beneath you. There are sea views on all four sides and, on a clear day, the view stretches to the north coast of Mallorca.
The mountain is crowned by a convent which has become an important centre of pilgrimage and the neat vegetable and herb gardens beneath the terraces are still tended to by the community of nuns who live there. Visit the tiny chapel or have lunch in the rustic café and browse around the shop, packed with souvenirs and local produce.
Lloc de Menorca Zoo
Lloc de Menorca Zoo, located on the main road from Mahon to Alaior, is sure to be a hit with the kids! The zoo has a range of creatures from farm animals to more exotic zoo animals and children will also be able to pet some of the farm animals.

The zoo also has a small splash pool, 2 museums, a picnic area, snack bar and a gift shop.
Splash Waterpark
Splash Waterpark is the newest of the islands 3 parks and can be found in Biniancolla, halfway between Binibeca and Punta Prima on the East coast of the island.
