Villa Location
Located in the countryside area of La Font, close to Pollensa (Pollenca) Old Town, Villa Perez is a great choice for your villa holiday. The old town is full of authentic Spanish restaurants and traditional architecture. By contrast, the resort of Puerto Pollensa (Puerto Pollenca) has a choice of much more fashionable restaurants along the promenade and famous Pine Walk, overlooking the sea. The marinas of both Puerto Pollensa and Alcudia are also well worth seeing, and a choice of superb beaches can be found within a short drive.

Location features

Local markets and shopping

Both Puerto Pollensa and Alcudia have weekly markets, which give the opportunity to purchase local produce and artisan trinkets typical of the north of the island. The more traditional market in Pollensa Old Town on a Sunday is also well worth visiting. For daily essentials, there is a supermarket close to the villa.

Bars and restaurants

There is a good restaurant 600 yards away, but venture into either Pollensa or Puerto Pollensa for a much larger variety. The old town of Pollensa is practically on your doorstep, and has a huge number of authentic tapas restaurants in the town square and along its cobbled streets. Puerto Pollensa also has a good selection of more stylish restaurants along the seafront, and if you venture into Alcudia, you'll find a number of beautiful fine dining restaurants overlooking the yachts in the marina.

Beaches

Beach lovers will be spoilt for choice with a number of excellent beaches in the area. The large, crescent-shaped bay of Puerto Pollensa has views of the mountainside - the ideal setting for a relaxing day by the sea. Alcudia also has a large sandy beach, and the smaller cove beaches of Mal Pas and Cala San Vicente are easily reachable by car.

Family fun

Puerto Pollensa offers boat hire, banana boat rides, parasailing and much more, whilst nearby Alcudia features its own waterpark, horse riding facilities and a go-karting track! In the marina you will also find various boat excursions, including the glass bottomed boat. Scuba diving, sailing lessons, pedaloes and jet skis are offered in both resorts, or, drier activities include cycling along the promenades.

Places of interest

Scaling the 365 steps from Pollensa Square to the Calvari Church is rewarded with some stunning scenery. Equally a trip to La Victoria Monastery in Bonaire, Alcudia, affords spectacular views of the Tramuntana Mountains and coastline. You can also visit the Caves of Drach, which house Europe's largest underground lake. The city of Palma is around an hours' drive away and is ideal for a day trip! Here you'll find the Gothic Cathedral, Miro's art gallery and Bellver Castle.

Golf

The golf clubs of Pollensa and Aucanada, with their stunning views of the coastline, are a must for all golf enthusiasts and are a short drive from the villa.

Other activities

Bird watching in the S'Albufera National Park, paragliding and hiking in the Tramuntana's are all available to try in and around the vicinity.

Every villa comes with its own manual, complete with details of the best restaurants, taxis, local amenities and activities. And of course, our reps are on hand to make sure you love your holiday more. If you need any advice or tips on the local area, they will be more than happy to help.

Activities and things to do
Activity
The Caves of Drach
These are the most famous tourist attractions on the island of Majorca. They are also known as Dragon Caves due to the fact that the dragon features in many Majorcan fairytales and is believed to be a symbol of strength and a defence against intruders.

There are three chambers inside the caves, Cueva Negra (Black Cave), Cueva Blanca (White Cave) and Cueva Luis Salvator (Luis Salvator Cave). Today, visitors can take a boat ride on the lake and see the beautiful limestone formations, including stalagmites protruding from the rock-face and stalactites hanging down from the roof of the cave.

As part of their journey underground, they are accompanied by the sound of musicians performing classical music, including compositions by Chopin, every hour on a boat..
Activity
Scuba Diving /Snorkelling
The clear waters around Majorca are the perfect place for diving especially in the small, shallow coves dotted around the coastline.

Equipment can be found and bought easily and cheaply if you have not brought your own with you. There is a diving school which operates off the main Cala Gran Beach and Esmerelda Beach.

The federation is available to give information and advice on all aspects of diving in Majorca. Clients can get certification.

Activity
Golf Pollensa
This 9 hole course is great when time is pressing. Protected by the mountains 'Puig de Santa Maria', Golf Pollença was designed in 1986 on a small hillside in a green valley overlooking the sea. The course is challenging with its tricky dog-legs and difficult green. No doubt one of the most beautiful courses in Mallorca
