Villa Description
Swimming pool and BBQ area

The large south-facing pool and sun terrace, surrounded with exotic palms and colourful flowers, provide the ideal setting to relax during the day. There is also a brick BBQ by the poolside for enjoying mealtimes at the villa. The swimming pool is overlooked by the covered dining terrace above, which is accessed from the lounge, if you prefer the comfort of the shade.


Entrance

From the private parking area at the front of Villa S'Hortet, a pathway and steps lined with pleasant bougainvillea lead to the entrance. The living accommodation is on the ground floor, with stairs down to the bedrooms on the lower pool level.

Please note that the upstairs apartment with separate entrance is occasionally occupied by the villa owner and is not for the use of Villa Plus clients. It is designed not to affect the privacy of you, your villa, pool or garden area.


Living space

The open plan lounge and dining area has 3 large pictures windows framing the view of Cala D'or Marina. There's comfortable seating, a flat screen TV and a table and chairs, as well as patio doors opening onto the spacious dining terrace overlooking the pool below. Adjacent to the living space is a second dining area, leading into the well-equipped kitchen, which has a small balcony, and the utility room.


Bedrooms and bathrooms

There is a shower room on the ground floor, with stairs leading down to the bedrooms. There is a double bedroom and 3 twin bedrooms, plus 2 bathrooms on the lower level of the villa. All 4 bedrooms have patio doors onto the pool terrace, as well as plenty of storage space.

Air conditioning/heating

In line with local energy saving initiatives, the villa has timed air conditioning on all units from 17:30 to 19:30 and from 22:00 to 09:00.

Villa Location
Sitting on a corner plot, right opposite the entrance to Cala D'or Marina, Villa S'Hortet has magnificent views over the yachts moored by the waterside. The marina is lined with a good choice of chic brasseries, or you can venture into the centre of Cala D'or, also filled with lively restaurants and bars, a short walk away. Cala D'or Beach is within 10 minutes' walk, or you can also catch the Cala D'or Express road train from the marina which stops at all 7 of Cala D'or's beaches.

Location features

Local markets and shopping

Cala D'or has a central pedestrianised shopping area, whilst the surrounding areas within the resort, such as Cala Egos and Cala Ferrera, also have some small souvenir and beach shops of their own. There are 2 separate weekly night markets found in the centre of Cala D'or and Cala Egos during the holiday season. Serious shoppers should head to either Felanitx and Santanyi, around 20 minutes' drive away, which both have a much larger market.


Bars and restaurants

Villa S'Hortet is in a fantastic position if you choose to dine out. The marina is on the opposite side of the street where you'll find many chic brasseries overlooking the waterfront, where, as you can imagine, fresh seafood is very popular. A 10 minute walk in the other direction is the centre of Cala D'or which has a huge choice of pubs, bistros, karaoke and cocktail bars and live entertainment, as well as several family friendly restaurants.


Beaches

Cala D'or is a great choice for beach lovers. The resort is split into 7 smaller areas, each with its own beautiful sandy cove. The beaches are all lined with beach bars and fresh seafood restaurants, and all can be reached easily on the Cala D'or Express.


Family fun

Playgrounds, mini golf facilities and glass bottom boat rides can all be found in Cala D'or. For anyone who does hire a car, several attractions and activities can also be easily reached within a short drive. The aquarium or Marineland Park close to Palma, the magical subterranean lake at the Caves of Drach or Cala Millor all make a great daytrip!


Other activities

The beautiful city of Palma has historic sites such as the Gothic cathedral, the artist Miro's gallery or Bellver castle. In the east of the island visit the Caves of Drach, which houses Europe's largest underground lake. The caves are illuminated to give a spectacular effect, and classical musicians play live music to further enhance the experience. Definitely a must visit!


Golf

Almost 4 miles away is the popular Vall D'Or Golf Course, with 18 holes for you to enjoy, and no handicap limit is required.

Vall D'Or is situated in the municipality of Felanitx only 2 miles from Porto Colom and 4½ miles from Cala D'Or, two of the most beautiful spots on Mallorca's eastern coast. It is a pretty course and offers visitors a friendly welcome.

Cruise the glorious creeks, crystal clear blue bays and little coves of the Mediterranean Sea, on one of the many charter boats or yachts available from the Marina in Cala D'or. There are quite a few different types of boat trips that sail off the local beaches in Cala D'or to various destinations on the East coast including Starfish glass bottom boats, Dolphin Catamarans and Sea Rider speed boat trips.

Aqualand is a place for the whole family to enjoy, there are plenty of different shapes and sizes of slides for everyone, making this is an ideal place for a great family day out.
