Villa Description

Villa Montechoro offers air conditioning/heating in the bedrooms and WiFi at no extra cost. The villa is full of character which is reflected in the tradional Portuguese furniture and attractive flooring.
There is a cobbled driveway for your car should you choose to hire one. Paths from here lead around the villa to the pool area, and up to the front door which opens into a small hallway.
Off the hall is a cloakroom, with the living area to the left.
The lounge/dining area is centered around an attractive, traditional feature fireplace, and patio doors open onto a small terrace the front of the villa.
To the right of the lounge is a fully equipped kitchen which has a breakfast table, access to a laundry room and larder, and a door opening onto the private pool terrace and garden.
Stairs by the dining area lead up to the first floor landing and bedrooms. There are 2 double bedrooms which each have their own en suite shower room, and a twin bedroom with en suite bathroom.
All bedrooms are air-conditioned/heated at no extra cost.
Outside, Villa Montechoro has a very pleasant garden area. There is a covered terrace housing the brick BBQ and dining table with seating for 6. The spacious private swimming pool is surrounded by ample terracing and lawns providing plenty of space to relax with a cool drink in the sun.

This villa has applied for a licence and the submission number is 223 ALOC/2008. The licence number will follow.

This villa is located in the suburb of Montechoro, the Montechoro Hotel being within easy walking distance marking the top part of Praia D'Oura's famous Strip. The resorts'abundance of bars, restaurants, shops and nightlife is within easy reach with the explansive golden beaches of Eulalia and Praia D'Oura being 5 minutes away by car.

This villa is in the suburb of Montechoro, Praia D'Oura, close to Montechoro Hotel and within walking distance of the Strip which has everything you need, with all manner of shops, cafes, bars, restaurants and clubs to choose from. During the day you can enjoy a bit of retail therapy and lunch at any one of the numerous cafes and restaurants. At night Praia D’Oura really comes to life, with many of the bars and clubs offering a great atmosphere - open until the early hours in high season - and a varied choice of live music can also be found. The Strip runs all the way to the golden sandy beach from which Praia D’Oura derives its name, which offers water sports facilities plus a choice of beachside cafes and restaurants.
The 'Old Town' of Albufeira lies 2 ¼ miles to the west and is nowadays a thriving tourist area, but evidence of Moorish history can still be seen along its narrow cobbled streets. The pedestrianized 'Old Town' has a vast selection of shops, cafes and restaurants and is well worth a visit.
For more relaxing surroundings, a string of picturesque cove beaches can be found just approximately 15 minutes drive to the west of Albufeira, such as Coelho, Castelo, Sao Rafael, Gale and Praia Grande. With approximately the same driving distance, the long sandy beach of Falesia can be found to the east.
For a great family day out there are a choice of water-slide parks and the Zoomarine Aquarium and dolphin show are within a short drive.
For golfers, the 9 hole Sheraton Pine Cliffs course is nearby at Acoteias and there are 6 more 18 hole courses approximately 15 - 20 minutes drive away in stylish Vilamoura.

Montechoro Hotel

The Montechoro Hotel just outside Albufeira is a great venue for sport, leisure and good food. Burn off some energy at the hotel’s two football pitches, eight tennis courts and two squash courts then chill out in the games room or health club.

The hotel’s restaurants offer both Portuguese and international cuisine in a stylish and relaxing environment. (Tel. 289 589 423)

Club Praia D’Oura bowling

'If you fancy the idea of a game of bowls, cucumber sandwiches, Pimms and a great view of the sea, make sure you call in at Club Praia d’Oura.

Situated in Albufeira at the time-share complex by the same name, the green is open to residents and non-residents from 10am to 6pm unless there are tournaments in play. (Tel 00 351 289 590310)

Praia D’Oura Watersports

Try windsurfing at Praia D’Oura or waterskiing at Falesia beach near Albufeira. During the summer months, the Acoteias complex near Falesia offers other watersports.

Oura Hotel

The Oura hotel in Albufeira has ample health and fitness facilities including a gym, indoor pool, Jacuzzi, squash courts, sauna, Turkish baths and solarium. (Tel 289 589135)

Pine Cliffs golf course

This course is perched on a cliff top above Falesia, one of the Algarve's most stunning beaches. The 5 Star Sheraton Algarve Hotel overlooks the umbrella pine trees that line the fairways.

The most testing hole is the dog-leg sixth with its small landing area for the drive. The second shot is uphill to a backward sloping green with bunkers in front.

Location: Seven kilometers east of Albufeira on the coast. Turn left off the EN125 for Acoteias, west of the Vilamoura turn off.

Salgados golf course

One of the many courses in the Algarve, it was once an aircraft landing strip and wetland area beside a bird sanctuary.

It has been compared to both a Scottish links course and a water-filled Florida course and if you enjoy water challenges this course is for you.

The par 4 seventh is rated amongst the best holes in Portugal. The final three holes decrease in difficulty allowing golfers to ease up after a testing first 15.

Zoomarine

Zoomarine is an exotic marine life theme park home to hundreds of fantastic and fascinating sea creatures. The park includes dolphins, sea lions, turtles, a shark, a museum and an alligator farm as well as a mini-zoo, exotic birds and tropical fish.

Some of the best shows in Europe are staged at Zoomarine such as sea lion, dolphin and eagle shows. It is advisable to arrive early and plan an itinerary for the day.

It is also possible to interact with dolphins but it is advisable to call at least 2 days in advance. Even though it is costable, it is very popular.

Entertainment at the theme park also includes fairground rides, swimming pools, shops and a cinema.

Zoomarine is situated at KM65 close to Albufeira on the main N125 road between Pera and Guia. The park is in a tranquil setting offset by gardens and lakes. Tel: 200 351 289 560 300.

Aqualand Waterslide Park

Formerly known as 'The Big One,' Aqualand has spectacular gardens and is probably the largest waterpark in the Algarve.

The names of the slides give you an idea of what to expect – Hydra, Raging Rapids, Banzai Boggan, Kamikaze, Surf Beach, Rainbow Park, Crazy Leap, Crazy Race &, Congo River! Users of the Kamikaze slide fall 26 metres vertically to the pool below in only four seconds!
