If you are more of a night owl, get ready to party in the live music bars and nightclubs of Praia d’Oura.
Local markets and shopping
Fort Sao Joao has a supermarket a short stroll away for your daily essentials. For locally grown produce, visit the local market every Tuesday between Praia d'Oura and the old town of Albufeira. Alternatively, the municipal market on the outskirts of Albufeira takes places daily apart from Sunday. You can buy all your fresh produce and fish here, ideal for a BBQ at your villa. In the narrow streets of Albufeira, there are many handicraft shops should you want to buy some souvenirs or gifts.
Bars and restaurants
You’ll have plenty of bars and restaurants to suit most tastes and budgets within walking distance when you want a night off from cooking at your villa. You may prefer a traditional Portuguese restaurant overlooking the Fishermen’s Beach or Chinese, Italian and fast food on the Praia d’Oura strip. The old town of Albufeira has many restaurants to choose from along narrow cobbled streets while the contemporary marina is a great spot for a cocktail and some international cuisine. If you want to keep going after dinner, try the live music bars around the main square in Albufeira or the Praia d'Oura strip where you’ll also find a choice of nightclubs.
Forte Sao Joao Beach is a short walk from our villas, with soft sand and calm waters surrounded by dramatic cliff faces. You’ll find sunbeds and parasols to hire and a choice of beach bars when you want some shade. The Praia d'Oura beach is a long golden sandy stretch with plenty of water sports on offer plus a choice of beachside cafes and restaurants. Nearby Albufeira has the famous Fishermen’s Beach, a beautiful and expansive sandy cove, flanked by weather worn rock formations. It’s great for watersports and sheltered for swimming.
Albufeira Marina has plenty of activities to try from dolphin watching to paragliding and kayaking. You’ll also find watersports on Fishermen’s Beach in Albufeira.
