If you are looking for a relaxed holiday Falesia is a great choice. It has a few restaurants, bars and shops but the highlight has to be its expansive beach that stretches for more than 6 kilometres – which is why the area is known by the locals as ‘beach town’.  

Exploring Falesia On Villa Holidays

Shopping is low key in Falesia, although there is a small square with a choice of souvenir shops, and a supermarket for stocking up on those holiday essentials. A local produce market in nearby Olhos D’Agua is open every morning Monday to Saturday and you can pick up some goodies to take back to your villa for a BBQ. For a greater choice of shops, head to Algarve Shopping, a large commercial centre in Guia, 20 minutes’ drive away.

Albufeira Old Town, just a 20 minute drive away, is perfect to get a real taste of the past with its narrow streets, handicraft shops and traditional colourful buildings. Or why not visit chic resort of Vilamoura, with a wide range of local craft stores to the most prestigious international brands, there is something to suit everyone.

Falesia Beach has some superb beach restaurants, plus there is a choice of bars and places to eat in the small square in Falesia. The nearby village of Acoteias, which is less than 10 minutes’ walk away also offers a cluster of restaurants serving international cuisine and a few bars. Or Olhos D'Agua, just a short drive away, has a variety of seafront restaurants and a few bars. If you're looking for a livelier atmosphere, there is a fantastic choice of restaurants and bars and in the nearby resorts of Albufeira and Vilamoura.

Falesia Beach is extensive, running along the coast for 6 kilometres from Vilamoura in the west all the way to Olhos D’Agua in the east. It’s backed by rust coloured sandstone cliffs, dotted with pine trees and accessed by steps that lead down from the clifftop car park. The clear waters are ideal for snorkelling and you’ll also find sun loungers and beach bars so you can easily spend a relaxing day.

Further along the coast is Olhos de Agua Beach, famous for its natural springs as well as the spectacular rocks and cliffs. Well worth a visit.

Falesia is a great choice for those looking for a relaxing break, it’s easy to spend hours building sand castles on the fabulous beach. If you are feeling energetic it is possible to walk from Falesia Beach to Vilamoura along the golden sands.

For a great family day out, children will love Zoomarine marine life theme park, home to hundreds of fantastic and fascinating sea creatures, exotic birds and tropical fish, which is around 25 minutes’ drive away in Guia. Or Krazy World, in the town of Algoz, is around 30 minutes' drive away and has a small zoo with restaurants and a communal pool.

For something a little more adventurous, Parque Aventura, in Santa Eulalia, is a treetop adventure park with zip wires, bridges and ropes. There's also a paintball centre there too.

The chic marina at Vilamoura, 20 minutes’ drive away, is lined with yachts and luxury boats. It offers sports facilities including boules, horse riding, tennis and sea fishing. For the less active, options include a stroll around the shops and restaurants in the marina, or a visit to the casino.

The International Sand Sculpture Festival, held in outskirts of Lagoa approximately 35 minute's drive away, takes place from May to October. The 50 international artists prepare sculptures based on different themes for 8 weeks. During the day the sculptures are impressive and at night they are illuminated with coloured lights. Great fun for all of the family!

The Algarve is home to an extensive number of courses with this resort having it’s very own- Pine Cliffs Golf driving range and 9-hole course, perched 200 feet above the golden sands and Atlantic Ocean.
