For fresh seafood head to the small port of Savelletri, 20 minutes by car, where there are numerous restaurants that offer fish caught by local boats.

Savelletri is the closest beach, 20 minutes drive away, known for its characteristic fishing port. Here you can have a stroll and taste the local seafood whilst watching the boats. Or why not visit one of the local lidos which have sun loungers and parasols for hire? The nearby town of Locorotondo is said to be one of the most beautiful villages in Italy and is well worth a visit. Perched on top of a hill, the historic town is a whitewashed maze of little lanes lined with historic buildings, some humble and faded, others retaining rather grand baroque archways and architectural details. Activities and things to do
To the south of Brindisi, Lecce is a city worth exploring for its Roman ruins, medieval castle and Baroque churches. The interior and exteriors of the many churches are equally ornate and make great use of the local limestone which is carved into designs of fruit, flowers and clambering vines which also decorate many of the public building throughout the city.
Acquapark Egnazia
During the summer from June to September, Acquapark Egnazia offers a fun choice of water slides, a lazy river and two pools for playing and splashing. You can also hire sun beds and umbrellas to relax in the sunshine.
Alberobello has around 1,400 trulli, the distinctive houses with conical roofs for which the region is famous. The 'Trulli Zone' of the town spreads up a hillside and is perfect for strolling around, taking photos and shopping for souvenirs in the many gift shops. There is a small museum explaining how life would have been lived in a trulli.
Grotte di Castellana
The limestone of Puglia has been worn away for 100,000 years creating caves and grottoes across the region, many of which have been turned into churches and visitor attractions. Grotte di Castellana is by far the largest with a network of nearly 2 miles. A guided tour takes around 2 hours or there is a shorter option of about 50 minutes.
Zoosafari Fasanolandia
Close to the town of Fasano on the plain between the Valle d’Itria and the sea, there is a popular theme park, Fasanolandia which has both a safari and theme park rides. The zoo has over 200 species including tigers, giraffes and chimpanzees.  It’s a fun excursion for family members of all ages.
