Villa Description
Swimming pool, terrace and BBQ area

Set in extensive grounds dotted with mature trees and a large lawn, Villa Gavida is the perfect choice for enjoying the outdoors. There are sun loungers and bali beds on the terrace, perfect for topping up your tan. The impressive saltwater pool is ideal for cooling off, and there is a built-in seating area at one end where you can relax with a good book. You'll find a shaded bar area, where you can whip up a cocktail or two, as well as a BBQ and pizza oven for those tasty holiday feasts.

Throughout the grounds you'll find plenty of nooks and crannies for you to unwind, from the comfortable seating under the beautiful walnut tree to the dining table with chairs under the covered terrace. There is a charming courtyard with traditional stone patio, and at the rear of the property you'll find a shaded gazebo area with a feature stone table.


The villa is gated from the road, with a long driveway leading down to a turning circle at one end. There is plenty of parking available for your hire car. The front door is set under the covered terrace.

Living area and kitchen

The living and dining area is finished in a typical Pugliese style, with exposed brick walls, small alcoves and wooden beamed ceilings. There is a comfortable seating area, flat screen TV and a dining table with chairs. A door opens out to the central courtyard area.

The adjacent kitchen has a traditional, countryside feel with exposed beamed ceilings, wooden cabinets and cream tiles. On one side doors open out to the covered terrace, leading round to the pool area, while a door on the opposite side opens to the rear of the villa. The utility room is accessed externally.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

Villa Gavida has 3 bedrooms in total, all located on the ground floor . There are 2 spacious double bedrooms, both with en suite shower rooms. You'll also find a twin bedroom with separate shower room. All 3 bedrooms are pleasantly finished with a bright and airy feel. There is also an exterior WC and shower cubicle.

Villa Location
Villa Gavida has an ideal countryside location on the outskirts of Carovigno. 5 minutes' drive will take you to the centre of town, with a good choice of restaurants and cafes. Continue towards the coast and you'll soon reach Torre Santa Sabina, 15 minutes' drive away, with stunning beaches and some great seafood restaurants. The 'White City' of Ostuni is also just 15 minutes' away, with beautiful architecture, sunny piazzas and plenty of bars and restaurants.

Local markets and shopping

There is a weekly market held every Thursday in Carovigno, where you can purchase fresh produce as well as clothing, handbags and some souvenirs. Or, head to one of the pastry shops to sample some of the local delicacies. Your nearest supermarket is just 5 minutes' drive away.

Bars and restaurants

Carovigno is home to a good choice of bars and restaurants, many offering traditional Italian menus including pasta and pizza. If you're after fresh fish, head to the coastal town of Torre Santa Sabina with a selection of seafood restaurants.


Torre Santa Sabina, 15 minutes' drove away, is home to some lovely beaches. Spiaggia dei Camerini is a great choice for families, with shallow waters and soft white sand. Mezzaluna Beach is a private beach club with sun loungers to hire and a bar offering a light lunch service.

Family fun

30 minutes' drive takes you to Zoo Safari, a drive-through zoo with over 200 species living in their natural habitat . Next door you'll find the Fasaolandia amusement park, with lots of fun rides to keep the whole family entertained. If you're looking to cool off why not head to Carrisland, 45 minutes' drive away, with plenty of slides, flumes and lazy rivers?

Places of interest

In Carovigno, the Dentice di Frasso Castle is a historic home dating back to the Norman period and dominates the town from its highest point. Down on the coast you'll find the 2 watchtowers, Santa Sabina Tower and the Guaceto Tower. Or, head to Ostuni, 20 minutes' drive away. Wander the narrow lanes, browse the boutiques and admire the Cathedral.


40 minutes' drive will take you to the San Domenico Golf Course, an 18-hole course with stunning views.

Other activities

Carovigno is surrounded by beautiful countryside dotted with olive trees, why not hire a bike and explore the stunning scenery? There are also some great walking routes to explore the area.

Activities and things to do
Zoosafari Fasanolandia
Close to the town of Fasano on the plain between the Valle d’Itria and the sea, there is a popular theme park, Fasanolandia which has both a safari and theme park rides. The zoo has over 200 species including tigers, giraffes and chimpanzees.  It’s a fun excursion for family members of all ages.
Cycle Touring
In Alberobello, the whole family can take a tour of the town and surrounding area by electric bike, Segway or golf buggy with visits to cheese makers or picnic options are available too. It's a lovely, slow-paced way to discover the countryside and rural way of life, unchanged for centuries.
Alberobello has around 1,400 trulli, the distinctive houses with conical roofs for which the region is famous. The “Trulli Zone” of the town spreads up a hillside and is perfect for strolling around, taking photos and shopping for souvenirs in the many gift shops. There is a small museum explaining how life would have been lived in a trulli.
San Domeico Golf
The San Domenico is located by the Adriatic Sea and  is considered  the best in Italy. This 18 hole championship club measures over 6300 meters, has a par of 72 and has been constructed to the highest standards, with greens conforming to USGA Specifications.
