Villa Description

Swimming pool, pool terrace and sunbathing area

The large private pool offers magnificent views over the Ionian Sea as you cool off under the summer sun. Sunbeds surround the pool along with a brick BBQ - ideal for preparing alfresco meals to enjoy while relaxing on the shaded terrace which runs along 2 sides of the villa. The shaded terrace overlooks the villa gardens and pool terrace.

Entrance

Walk up 5 steps from the road and you'll arrive at a gated entrance which opens to the villa gardens. From here, follow a path through the garden and up a set of stairs to a large enclosed terrace which runs along the front of the villa. The front door opens into the lounge.

Living space

The open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area on the ground floor is furnished with comfortable sofas, a TV and patio doors leading out onto the spacious shaded terrace. There is a dining table and chairs adjacent to a further set of patio doors leading to separate balconies, with countryside views. A breakfast bar separates the well-equipped kitchen from the dining area and is well equipped to cater for all your culinary needs. The living space has a sophisticated, contemporary design meaning you can relax in style.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

On the first floor at the front of the villa are 2 double bedrooms, both with ample storage space and beautiful sea views. The patio doors from the first double room lead out onto a large enclosed balcony, echoing the terrace below, which runs along the front and side of the room. The other double bedroom on the first floor has patio doors leading out to a private semi-circular balcony. You will also find a twin room with a private balcony overlooking the rear of the villa and the countryside beyond. These bedrooms have access to 2 seperate shower rooms on the first and ground floor.

Stairs lead up to the second floor double bedroom which commands this entire floor. The room features a comfortable seating area, large walk-in wardrobe and a modern shower room with double sinks. It's a beautiful space with a vaulted wooden ceiling painted white to enhance the natural light. 2 sets of patio doors lead out onto a wraparound balcony with stunning seaviews. It doesn't get much better than this!

Home to a great choice of restaurants, bars and shops and a waterpark - Tsilivi is packed full of activities for all ages. Both glorious sandy beaches and hidden pebbly coves are an easy drive away. Set within a well-tended and full enclosed garden with spectacular views over the sparkling Ionian Sea, Villa Porto Dermata is a Greek oasis.

Local markets and shopping

A short car journey will take you to the busy neighbouring resort of Tsilivi where you can indulge yourself in one of the many gift shops along its main street. Head into Zante Town, just a 15 minute drive away, where you can browse a wide selection of shops, from jewellery and clothes, to gifts and souvenirs. Further afield, on a drive into the mountains, explore the craft village of Volimes. Wander through the village bartering for local crafts and souvenirs with the stall holders and purchase wonderful herbs and honey all freshly produced in Zante.

Beaches

The North East Coastline extending from Tragaki has plenty of small sandy coves including Giadaros, Bouka, Psarou and Ammoudi to name a few. Tsilivi Beach is just 5 minutes' drive away with a long, sandy shoreline that shelves gently into the Ionian Sea. Beach bars will look after you, bringing refreshments directly to your sun bed. For those looking for more excitement, boat rides, parascending, peddle boats and jet skis are just a few of the many water-based activities on offer.

Family fun

Perfect your putting at Fantasy Mini-Golf where there are three 18-hole course for you to try. The Luna Park, open until late, has amusements to suit all, and 'Bowl em Over', with its four lane bowling alley, add even more entertainment options for couples and families alike. Tsilivi also has its own Water Park with a lazy river as well as 6 larger slides - fun for the whole family.

Places of interest

Zante is of course famous for the picturesque Shipwreck Bay, a 50 minute drive away. On route, explore the mountains by car, stopping off at the viewpoint overlooking the shipwreck for some fantastic photos. Alternatively, drive to Porto Vromi and take a boat into the bay itself to see the shipwreck up close. Bocchali, on the hill overlooking Zante Town is a beautiful place to visit. Sit in one of the cafes with a cool drink or ice-cream while enjoying the view over the town and across to the Greek Mainland. Wander up to the ruins of the Venetian Castle and in the evening watch, while drinking a cocktail, as the lights of the town start to twinkle below as it comes to life.

Activities and things to do

Luna Fun Park

Located along the main street of Tsilivi, this is a great little spot for keeping younger people entertained. Activities include trampolining, inflatables and face painting, as well as a games arcade. Plus, drinks are served in the garden area so you can relax while keeping an eye on the fun. Most of the activities are outdoors, so it’s a great place to visit early evening.

Fantasy Mini Golf

Think waterfalls, dinosaurs and erupting volcanoes! Located along the main street in Tsilivi, this fantasy-themed mini golf centre makes a fantastic trip out for families and couples alike. It’s open by day and night, with 4 different courses to choose from - not to be missed!

Tsilivi Waterpark

For a splashing day out, why not try the Tsilivi Waterpark? There’s plenty to keep everyone entertained, with a variety of slides including a space bowl, the boomerang and racer slides. For anyone looking for more relaxation, there’s also a wave pool and lazy river as well as a splash pool for younger children.

Water Village

Water Village is located in the village of Sarakinado, 4 miles from Zante Town. You can expect a thrill a minute with plenty to do for all the family. Slide head first on a mat-racer side, get lost down the black hole, and try the Free Fall if you dare! Younger children are catered for too with a dedicated Splash Zone and there's a lazy river for a more leisurely ride. Water Village makes a fantastic day out.

Turtle Spotting Cruise

Zante is home to the Caretta caretta loggerhead turtle, an endangered and protected species who nest on the beaches here. There are many boat excursions on offer to catch a glimpse of these beautiful sea creatures, in their natural environment. Your best chance is in July and August.

The Byzantine Museum

This striking building is located in the famous Solomos Square, Zante Town. The small art museum showcases post-Byzantine art as murals salvaged from churches destroyed in the 1953 earthquake.

Blue Caves Cruise

Natural geological formations, have led to the creation of many caves along the coast of Zante. Some can be explored by boat and others by swimming alone. The reflection of the sun on the turquoise waters, within these magical caverns, gives the caves their name. A wonderful experience not to be missed.

Shipwreck Beach

The stunning Navagio Beach and shipwreck is undoubtedly the icon of Zante. The only way of setting foot on its shores is by boat, but can also capture the picture-perfect shot from a viewpoint in the north of the island.
