Located on the South Coast of Rhodes, Gennadi is famous for it’s seemingly never-ending stretch of beaches. The village of Gennadi exudes Rhodian charm and is full of character, well worthy of a visit during your stay. Yet it’s the Blue Flag Gennadi Beach that is the real gem in this part of Rhodes. With crystal blue waters, the resort makes a great choice for all beach lovers. Offering sand and pebble beaches as far as the eye can see, the resort encapsulates a very cosmopolitan vibe. There are many beach bars to be found, a great place for evening cocktails and chilled DJ sets.
Gennadi has a supermarket plus a selection of cafes and local bakeries for all those daily essentials. Slightly further North is Lardos, which has good options for shopping. Or, take a short drive south to the village of Lachania, a great alternative for picking up local groceries.
For traditional meals, head to the village’s main square and enjoy the delicious, locally sourced meat and fish available in one of the friendly tavernas. Alternatively, along the beach there are numerous beach bars that can be found, offering contemporary dishes and cocktails, perfect for enjoying those evening sunsets. A short drive along the coast will bring you to Kiotari and Lardos, giving you an exciting array of additional dining options.
Gennadi Beach has a long stretch of sand and pebble beaches as well as crystal clear waters. Despite it’s stunning scenery and serenity, it is less busy with tourists compared to other beaches further north on the island.
Gennadi Beach offers water based activities to keep family groups entertained. Moreover, there are plenty of family activities that can be accessed by car from Gennadi. Head out on a mesmerising glass bottom boat trip from Pefkos or venture further north to Faliraki and you will find one of the largest waterparks in Europe.
For those seeking culture, there are the nearby churches of St Anastasia the Roman and Saint Phanourious, both worthy of a visit during your stay.
Lindos is just a short drive up the coastal road with white washed buildings overlooked by the famous acropolis. A little further along the coast is the picturesque St Paul’s Bay, a real aesthetic treat with its glistening blue waters and a chapel perched on the headland.
