Exanthia is a small, traditional Greek village located on the west coast of Lefkada. Set up on the hillside, its elevated position allows for unbeatable sea views. The village is home to the popular Rachi restaurant, famous for watching the stunning sunsets. You’ll find the spectacular Kathisma Beach within easy driving distance, while the charming village of Agios Nikitas is also nearby and well worth a visit. An Exanthia villa holiday is the perfect base to explore the stunning west coast of Lefkada.
In Exanthia there is a small bakery serving traditional pastries and delicious baked goods, great for a breakfast pretzel or some bread for lunch. You’ll find a good choice of mini markets in the nearby village of Agios Nikitas, with a couple more dotted along en route. Larger supermarkets are located on the edge of Lefkada Town.
Exanthia is home to the popular restaurant, Rachi, famous for its fantastic views and delicious Greek food – a stunning place to watch the sunset. You’ll also find a handful of cafes and tavernas serving local cuisine. For a greater choice, head to the village of Agios Nikitas, with a wide selection of traditional eateries. Or, dine at one of the chic beach bars lining Kathisma Beach.
The west coast of the island has no shortage of beautiful beaches to explore. Kathisma Beach is a stunning, wide stretch of sand and shingle lined with a great choice of chic beach bars. There are plenty of sun loungers and parasols to rent for the day, where you can order drinks directly to your cabana. Or, head to Agios Nikita Beach, a sheltered shingle bay with beautifully clear waters.
If you’re feeling adventurous you can arrange paragliding from Kathisma Beach. For those wanting to keep their feet on the ground, take a visit to Faneromeni Monastery, with panoramic views across Agios Ioannis beach and beyond to the mainland. You’ll want to visit Lefkada Town at least once during your stay, with a superb choice of tavernas and eateries lining the cobbled streets and marina. From here you can arrange a boat trip to explore the stunning coastline.
