Villa Description
Swimming pool and BBQ area

The uniquely-shaped private swimming pool faces the open sea, with views across the water to Imerolia Beach. To the side of the house is an attractive, large stone BBQ and a covered table and chairs. The grounds are kept very private with the pool positioned at the rear of the villa, and the terraces being surrounded by olive trees.

A sloped driveway leads up to Villa Thalassia and neighbouring Villa Apanemia, which sits behind. There is a private parking area in front of the villa which is level with the upper floor of the house. Steps at the side lead down to the main entrance, BBQ and dining terrace, which runs the whole width of the house to steps leading down to the private pool terrace.

Please note that the entrance to the villa is steep and although a car is not essential, the car group 1W minivan will not be suitable.

Living space

The open plan living space combines the lounge, dining area and well-equipped kitchen. Comfortable seating surrounds the flat screen TV and ornamental fireplace and there's also a table and chairs for dining at the villa. Patio doors on either side of the room open onto the terrace, which has steps leading down to the pool. The utility room, accessed from the kitchen, gives extra storage space.

Stairs lead up to the bedrooms, as well as a small reading area which has seating and a large sea-facing window. You can also access the parking area from here.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

All 4 bedrooms are on the upper floor, each with their own en suite facilities. This level can be accessed from the car park. At the front of the villa are 2 twin bedrooms, each with an en suite shower room, and windows overlooking the surrounding olive trees. At the back of the villa is a twin bedroom with en suite shower room and a double bedroom with en suite bathroom. Both of these bedrooms have a small private, sea-facing balcony with wonderful views.

This villa is registered and licenced by EOT Greek licensing association. This number is: 0829K124K8089001.

Villa Location
Villa Thalassia is in a great position, right by the seafront on the Kassiopi headland. It only takes 5 minutes to walk to the nearest beach and tavernas, whilst alternative beaches and the central harbour are all within 15 minutes' walk. Around the harbour are various restaurants, plus several bars and shops, all overlooked by the remains of Kassiopi Castle. There are many attractions and places to visit within a short drive, plus motorboats can be hired locally to explore the various hidden coves and beaches.

Location features

Local markets and shopping

Kassiopi has several shops selling clothes, souvenirs and beach accessories, as well as a couple of mini markets and supermarkets where you can stock up on daily essentials and BBQ supplies. The islands only market is in the capital, Corfu Town. Here, the stalls sell fresh locally caught fish, vegetables and fruit. The town centre is filled with gift and high street shops which, despite being an hours' drive south, is still well worth the journey.

Bars and restaurants

The streets leading into the harbour have a few restaurants, with a greater choice of tavernas and lively bars around the waterfront. Here, there is everything from contemporary restaurants to traditional Greek tavernas, as well as popular bars with Greek dancing, karaoke and live sports!

Kassiopi has a couple of small but pleasant pebbly beaches around the headland. The nearest is Kassiopi Kalamionas Beach which has a couple of good tavernas. Or, you can visit the longer shingle beach of Imerolia, stretching away from the resort to the west, 15 minutes away on foot. The smaller Kassiopi Bataria Beach is around 10 minutes' walk away on the other side of the headland. This beach is within a short walk from the nearest taverna, and although there are no amenities by the beach itself it's great for a picnic!

Family fun

Children will love paddling and snorkelling in the sea. Or, you can venture 20 minutes' drive west to the popular Hydropolis Waterpark in Acharavi. The larger Aqualand Waterpark is an hours' drive away, back towards Corfu Town.

Places of interest

Motorboats can be hired locally to explore the stunning bays of Kouloura, Kalami and Agni along the North East Coast. Alternatively, visit the islands highest point, Mount Pantokrator and admire the superb scenery. Or, why not explore the abandoned village of Old Perithia which, today, is being brought back to life as the ruined houses are renovated and summer tavernas cater for visitors.

Corfu's only golf course is located a little over an hours' drive south in the Ropa Valley, in the area of Ermones.

Other activities

Horse riding facilities, water sports and various boating excursions can all be found nearby. Further afield, the views and beaches of Paleokastritsa are simply stunning. And no trip to Corfu would be complete without visiting Corfu Town. The wealth of gift shops and restaurants, its lively market, high street shops, bars, marina and fortresses make it a great day out!

Activities and things to do
Boat trips
The beautiful 14 meter motor yacht, the Nautilus, offers trips around the North East coast of the island or a day or night time cruise round to Corfu Town. The boat has a BBQ and passengers will also have the chance to swim from the boat - perfect for snorkelling!

Paleokastritsa has little boats that take up to 20 people on small tours to the nearby caves. The tours last about an hour and are a lovely way to admire the dramatic scenery and small caves of the West Coast.

Calypso glass bottom boat leaves from Corfu old port on a regular basis. A large glass bottom boat it takes big groups to a spot just off the island of Vidos. The round trip takes about an hour and children can see sea lions and the fish around the island.

Horse riding
If you prefer not to do all the work what better way to enjoy the scenery and tone up the muscles a bit than by horse. There are several horse riding schools around the island.

There are two very nice ones: One at Avlaki where Alison takes you on a ride through the Eremitis peninsular with its lovely sea views, another is in Kato Korakiana where Sally takes lovely rides through the countryside from her well-tended stables.

There are 2 waterparks on the Island: Hydropolis on the outskirts of Acharavi on the north coast, and the larger Aqualand in Ag Ioannis, just outside Corfu Town. Both parks have a good selection of slides, pools and various refreshments available. Aqualand is by far the largest of the waterparks and in fact one of the largest waterparks in Europe with a big selection of rides and activities for all ages (including a very sedate 'lazy river' for older party members!) It has a couple of cafes and snack bars, a small shopping area and plenty of sun loungers and is open from 9am-8pm daily all Summer.

Self drive boat hire
The Corfu is an ideal location to hire a small boat and skipper yourself and family for the day to explore the many coves and beaches. There are a number of resorts where boats of several different sizes can be hired locally. Usually there are boats with tiller steering and ones with steering wheels. Most boats have a sun canopy. All boats have life vests and are fully prepared. You do not need a speedboat licence to drive a boat with an engine smaller than 25hp. Instruction can be given if required.
Corfu Golf Club
Designed by the famous architect Donald Harradine the Corfu course has been praised by many as one of the best kept in Europe and he has blended the natural resources of the lovely Ropa Valley with man made hazards to make the course a good but fair test. It is as enjoyable for the scratch player as it is for the long handicap one. The course is open 7 days a week.

The magnificent greens of Penncross Bent are considered to be the finest in the Mediterranean, the treelined fairways and the sandtraps combined with several lakes and meandering streams, make an attractive picture against a backcloth of high hills. A new modern irrigation system keeps the golf course in excellent condition even through the hot summer months. Over the past 3 years the golf course and clubhouse has undergone a total renovation. Bunkers have been redesigned, deepened, drained and filled with white sand, shipped in from a nearby Greek island.

Suitable for all levels of player with qualified instructors on hand for beginners and equipment rental available. It is also ideally placed for families who perhaps don't all share the same interest in the sport being a mere 10 minute drive from Aqualand, the largest waterpark on the island, 20 minutes out of Corfu town and 10 minutes from the nearest beach at Ermones.

It has a large well-appointed clubhouse and restaurant and is open all year round.
