Villa Description
Swimming pool and BBQ area

Built into the hillside, Villa Priodi has been designed to make the most of the views, light and position. The sea-facing dining terrace and BBQ are covered creating a cool, shady spot to dine beside the original threshing platform. From here, stone steps lead down to the large private pool and surrounding partially covered sunbathing terrace. The grounds are dotted with attractive flowers adding a splash of colour.

Villa Priodi is in a secluded position, accessed by a track from the road leading up to a private parking area in front of the house. From here, steps take you up to the entrance as well as the pool.

Living space

The open plan living space has several authentic features including tiled floors, exposed stone walls, an impressive ornamental fireplace and a beamed ceiling. There's plenty of seating and a table and chairs for interior dining, with a traditional stone archway connecting the fully equipped kitchen. The front door allows access directly onto the dining terrace overlooking the pool to the sea.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

There's a WC by the lounge, with stairs leading up to the first floor bedrooms. Here you'll have a double bedroom with an en suite bathroom with half bath, and a twin bedroom with en suite shower room. Each bedroom has windows to the front and side, maximising the wonderful views of the open countryside and sea. A door at the far end of the hall opens onto a large shaded veranda facing the side of the adjacent annexe.

Due to its position, built into the hillside, the annexe is level with the first floor of the house, located at the rear. Once a small separate outbuilding, the annexe has been converted into a comfortable twin bedroom with en suite shower room. This bedroom is tastefully decorated, with an attractive wooden beam ceiling and stone fireplace, and is accessed from the front of the main house and parking area.

This villa is registered and licenced by EOT Greek licensing association. This number is: 0829K10K756300.

Villa Location
Villa Priodi sits amid the hillside between the laid-back resort of Avlaki and the larger, lively resort of Kassiopi, both within a 5 minute drive. Avlaki has a couple of lovely traditional beachfront tavernas whilst the harbourside village of Kassiopi has a wealth of shops and restaurants, as well as several small pebbly coves. Various activities, attractions and places to visit are within easy reach by car, including the island's capital, Corfu Town. Or, why not hire a motorboat and explore the hidden coves and neighbouring resorts by sea?

Location features

Local markets and shopping

Kassiopi has several shops selling clothes, souvenirs and beach accessories, as well as a couple of mini markets where you can stock up on daily essentials and BBQ supplies. The islands only market is in the capital, Corfu Town. Here, the stalls sell fresh locally caught fish, vegetables and fruit. The town centre is filled with gift and high street shops which, despite being an hours' drive south, is still well worth the journey.

Bars and restaurants

The roads leading into the harbour have a few restaurants, with a greater choice of tavernas and lively bars around the waterfront. Here, there is everything from modern restaurants to traditional tavernas, and popular bars with Greek dancing, karaoke and live sports! The harbour is overlooked by the remains of Kassiopi Castle, which is lit up at night creating a wonderful atmosphere for dining out. Nearby Avlaki has a couple of fantastic Greek tavernas right by the beachfront, offering good food and a relaxed atmosphere.

There are several great beaches within a very short drive. Avlaki has a long pebbly bay with a couple of good tavernas, whilst Coyevinas Beach has no amenities, but is still great for sunbathing, swimming and a homemade picnic! Kassiopi also has a few small pebbly beaches dotted around the headland, as well as the longer Imerolia Beach on the far west side of the resort. All of these have tavernas nearby where you can stop for lunch.

Family fun

Children will love paddling and snorkelling in the sea at any of the local beaches and coves. Or you can venture 20 minutes' drive west to the popular Hydropolis Waterpark in Acharavi. The larger Aqualand Waterpark is an hours' drive back towards Corfu Town.

Places of interest

Kassiopi Harbour is overlooked by the remains of its impressive castle which can be accessed by a steep, rough track from the harbour. The views from the castle over the village are stunning - well worth the climb! Further afield, and all easily accessed by car, are Corfu's highest point, Mount Pantokrator and the beautiful sandy beaches and views from Paleokastritsa, not to mention various quaint villages waiting to be explored. Or, if you prefer not to drive, why not hire a motorboat locally and explore Corfu's various hidden coves from the sea? Don't forget to take a picnic!

Corfu's only golf course is located a little over an hours' drive south in the Ropa Valley.

Other activities

Horse riding facilities, water sports and various boating excursions can all be found nearby. And no trip to Corfu would be complete without visiting Corfu Town. Its plethora of shops and restaurants, market, marina and fortresses make it a great day trip. You can even stay into the evening and enjoy cocktails at the Liston - the large central building lined with bars which overlook the fortress.

Activities and things to do
Horse riding
If you prefer not to do all the work what better way to enjoy the scenery and tone up the muscles a bit than by horse. There are several horse riding schools around the island.

There are two very nice ones: One at Avlaki where Alison takes you on a ride through the Eremitis peninsular with its lovely sea views, another is in Kato Korakiana where Sally takes lovely rides through the countryside from her well-tended stables.

Though not known particularly for its windsurfing Corfu none the less has two good windsurfing schools. One is in the south of the island and the other is on Avlaki beach in the North.

Windsurfing is something all the family can enjoy, either out at sea or from the comfort of a sunbed on the beach! A range of boards and lessons from qualified instructors are available, if required

Virtually all major beaches and many of the smaller ones have water sports of one form or another available.

Generally pedalos and small canoes can be found everywhere and sports activities include water-skiing and water boards, para-gliding, ringos, banana boats and the latest 'fish' which works on a similar principal.

Most water sports jetties offer lessons and some offer courses for children.

There are very few places that now offer jet skiing. One beach is Gouvia beach where a qualified instructor has tow jet skis available for hire.
Boat trips
The beautiful 14 meter motor yacht, the Nautilus, offers trips around the North East coast of the island or a day or night time cruise round to Corfu Town. The boat has a BBQ and passengers will also have the chance to swim from the boat - perfect for snorkelling!

Paleokastritsa has little boats that take up to 20 people on small tours to the nearby caves. The tours last about an hour and are a lovely way to admire the dramatic scenery and small caves of the West Coast.

Calypso glass bottom boat leaves from Corfu old port on a regular basis. A large glass bottom boat it takes big groups to a spot just off the island of Vidos. The round trip takes about an hour and children can see sea lions and the fish around the island.

There are 2 waterparks on the Island: Hydropolis on the outskirts of Acharavi on the north coast, and the larger Aqualand in Ag Ioannis, just outside Corfu Town. Both parks have a good selection of slides, pools and various refreshments available. Aqualand is by far the largest of the waterparks and in fact one of the largest waterparks in Europe with a big selection of rides and activities for all ages (including a very sedate 'lazy river' for older party members!) It has a couple of cafes and snack bars, a small shopping area and plenty of sun loungers and is open from 9am-8pm daily all Summer.
