Are your villas near main resorts like Cannes, Nice and St. Tropez?
Yes, we have villas located near these main tourist areas. We have villas in Cannes, a city famous for its film festival and luxury hotels and shops. Peymeinade and Cabris are scenic villages close to Cannes, both around 30 minutes away by car.
We also have villas in Antibes, a seaside city known for its 16th-century Old Town. Antibes is located between Cannes and Nice, within easy driving distance from both if you want to organise a day trip.
For proximity to St. Tropez, we recommend staying at one of our villas in the Sainte-Maxime area, located just next door. Or just an hour up the coast is Frejus, and from there you’ll be able to get to St. Tropez by car or ferry.
Can I rent a villa in French Riviera countryside rather than a beach resort?
You can find a villa in French Riviera beach resorts such as Cannes, Antibes and Sainte-Maxime, but you’ll also find properties surrounded by glorious countryside. For instance, the medieval village of St Cezaire-sur-Siagne is just 40 minutes from Cannes and is tucked away on top of vertical cliffs overlooking the untamed valley of the Siagne River.
The small town of Lorgues is a lovely spot for its mix of medieval streets and surrounding pine and oak forests. It’s about an hour away from St. Tropez when you want to organise a day out at the beach.
Do I need a car for French Riviera villa holidays?
Getting around the Côte d'Azur is possible without a car, but car hire is recommended if you want ease and flexibility. At Villa Plus, we provide a convenient car hire option, available via your My Villa Plus login.
We do have a few French Riviera villas for rent that are in locations with amenities within walking distance. If you would prefer to travel without a car, filter on ‘Car optional’ when searching.
You can also book competitively priced private airport transfers to get you to and from the villa and airport with ease. We ask that extras such as car hire and transfers be arranged at least seven days before you travel.
What is the best time of year for French Riviera villa holidays?
Côte d'Azur has a mild Mediterranean climate, so it can be a lovely destination to explore year-round. Many visitors prefer the shoulder seasons (March to June or September to November) due to the comfortable temperatures. But there’s something to see and do throughout the year.
Even in the winter, the entire stretch of coast enjoys remarkably mild weather, making it an ideal time to check out sights and attractions when they're less busy.
