Lorgues is a beautiful town with a rich and diverse history. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, you’ll find vineyards, olive groves and even truffle fields within close proximity. Our villas with private pools in Lorgues can be found close to this charming Provencal town. Take a walk down the streets, enjoy an al fresco coffee and soak up the beautiful architecture, some of which dates back to the 11th century. Should you wish to step away from the comfort of your charming villa and private pool there are a multitude of exciting activities nearby, from wine tasting to windsurfing.
Each Tuesday morning you’ll find a thriving local market situated in the heart of the town. With more than 100 provincial farmers and artisans selling everything from meat and vegetables to clothes and accessories, there’s something for everyone. In neighboring towns you’ll find similar markets taking place throughout the week. Throughout the town there are numerous delicious bakeries with a great selection of bread, pastries and sweet treats. There is a selection of larger supermarkets located on the outskirts of Lorgues.
In Lorgues you’ll find a fantastic selection of welcoming restaurants, serving hearty and delicious French fare. There are also a selection of restaurants and bars where you can find other cuisines such as burgers and pizzas. For truffle lovers, a visit to Chez Bruno is a must, just 2½ kilometres from Lorgues, this Michelin starred eatery easily gets through 5000kg of the delicacy each year, creating sublime dishes to tickle your taste buds.
The coastal area of the French Riviera is blessed with natural beauty in abundance and there is a long list of incredible beaches to visit. The closest beach to Lorgues is Sainte Maxime, around 40 kilometres to the south, with a lovely sandy beach, shallow waters and wonderful views across to the glamorous Saint Tropez. The boat trip between the two is only 20 minutes and a fantastic way to view the turquoise blue waters close up.
Between Sainte Maxime and Saint Tropez is another wonderful spot, Grimaud Beach, with golden sands lined by palm trees. The port of the same name is home to many yachts and perhaps a celebrity or two.
Head along the coast and you’ll find a number of fabulous and famous beaches such as Cannes, Antibes and Nice, some of the most glitzy and elegant places to discover.
Family fun is available across the region and a great evening out can be had at Azur Park. Close to St Tropez there is a selection of 30 rides and attractions to keep you entertained. Opening from 8pm each evening during summer months.
In the village of Vidauban is Provence Aventure, this aerial adventure park is great for kids with zip lining, canopy walks and high ropes providing an exciting day out. There are also inflatables on the lake, perfect for splashing around on a hot summer’s day, as well as a couple of water slides and a trampoline area.
On the edge of Sainte Maxime, a 45 minute drive from Lorgues, is Aqualand Sainte Maxime, with slides flumes and various pools it makes for a brilliant day out for the whole family.
Lorgues is close to a number of fantastic vineyards and you could quite easily spend days going from one to another. Chateu Arnaude produces some delicious wines and has a cellar shop open where you can sample these. You’ll also find a zip lining experience here, with 6 different courses ranging in difficulty.
Tourtour, known as the village in the sky, is a picturesque village, which when viewed from a distance appears to be floating on the horizon. Around 16 kilometres from Lorgues, it’s full of Medieval houses, a beautiful central square and some ancient sights. There are several cafes and restaurants to enjoy a relaxing lunch or coffee at. A morning market is held in the village on a Wednesday and Saturday.
