Villa Demetrios Blue Bay is in a fantastic seafront location, along a country lane, and just a short drive from the many restaurants, shops and amenities of Polis town. Latchi's charming harbour and beach is a little further. This villa is ideal for a relaxing retreat, whilst still being close to all the resort amenities. It's located next to its sister Villas Thea Blue Bay and Nicole Blue Bay so ideal for couples, families or even large groups if booked together with these.
Local markets and shopping
There is a good choice of shops and a small market in the centre of Polis, selling mainly fruit. From time to time there are pop up markets which are well advertised. The lively town of Paphos has a market set in a maze of lanes selling local linen and lace. There is also a farmer's market in the old town of Paphos. At weekends, you can buy fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as items such as lace, leather bags, olive oil products, souvenirs and other local items. Or, the King's Avenue Mall has all the top shops in one place.
Bars and restaurants
In Polis square, there is a choice of restaurants and local tavernas. If you are a seafood fan, then Latchi harbour is the place to be! It has many seafood restaurants selling fresh daily catch and is a great place to watch ships go by.
The Blue Bay Beach is only a 2 minute walk, which is less developed than some of the others in the area but still very beautiful. Alternatively, the pebble beaches of Polis and Latchi are just a short drive away. The popular resort of Coral Bay offers many forms of watersports and is about 20 miles away from Polis.
The horse riding in Lysos is great for a family day out and is just a short car ride away. Also, there is go-karting on the outskirts of Polis. Or, Ithaki Amusement Park is situated in Coral Bay and with a mini-golf course, video games arcade, zoo and a cafe bar, is ideal for a family day out.
Places of interest
Cyprus is teeming with loads of interesting historical places. In fact, the whole of Paphos is a World Heritage site. With the Tomb of the Kings, the Catacombs, the Saranta Colones, the castle, the Catholithic village in Lemba being just a few of the places you can visit.
The Troodos Mountains have picturesque villages, many with their own specialised local handicraft or even a locally distilled spirit. There are many fascinating churches and monasteries with Byzantine churches on the UNESCO list of cultural treasures. Park the car and go for a stroll through the pine scented forest and discover a silent world.
There are several golf courses in the Paphos area. The Mario's Golf has a driving range, crazy golf and even foot golf. Alternatively, if you're looking for a 'real' round of golf, Tsada golf club would be another choice.
Other places of interest
The Akamas Peninsular is a short journey west, and by far the most beautiful location on Cyprus with untouched landscape, amazing natural beauty, deep gorges and stunning sandy bays. It is a great for a day out and a perfect spot to take pictures. The view from the top is amazing!

We were very impressed by the villa, especially the view. It is spacious with a good sized pool set in a private grounds. The villa is well equipped with everything you could need including wifi which was popular with our children. A car is necessary as stated, as the nearest shop is a good distance away. Overall a wonderful experience.
