The balcony to the front overlooks the pool with the distant sea view beyond. With the comfortable sofas and large flat screen TV, a functional kitchen and eating areas, this is a great villa for larger groups to spread out.
Downstairs the double bedroom not only has an en suite shower room and its' own private mountain view balcony, but also opens on to the large communal area where the gas BBQ is located. There is also a handy communal cloakroom just off the living area.

The villa is located on a hill behind the resort of Aghia Marina. Due to the inland elevation of the villa, visitors can enjoy a view of the sea from the north side and breath taking mountain views on the south side. The beautiful town of Chania is close by, which should be explored.
This Crete holiday villa is in a location which ticks many boxes. It is in within easy reach of shops, has a taverna just a short walk away and is in a great position for those wanting to explore the West of the island.
For the energetic visitors, the waterpark is a half hours drive away offering the Black Hole to the adrenaline junkies and the Lazy River to those who want a more sedate water experience. A go-kart track can also be found on the outskirts of Chania where all ages can be catered for.
If it's beaches you are looking for, West Crete has many. Some are in busy, lively resorts like the ones in Plananias, a short drive from the villa, where the beaches are organised with sunbeds, umbrellas, watersports and very lively music from the nearby bars and cafes. Other beaches are just tiny coves where you need to take your own supplies as there won't be another soul about. If it's rocky promontories for snorkelling that interest you, then take your pick. Some beaches in the area are also the nesting grounds for the protected Loggerhead Turtles. Elafonissi on the south west corner is one of the most photographed beaches with its' pink hued sand and turquoise waters. No one is disappointed by this beach or the surrounding areas.
Chania is also a 'must do' to put on everyones' list. This magical town has just about everything to keep a visitor entertained. The old town is a maze of tiny alleys studded with a myriad of shops which range from arty and eclectic to traditional and everyday. Take the time to stop and look up - you will see the charming remains of the Venetian occupation in the architectural features which jostle with the cascades of fuscia bouganvillia, periwinkle plumbago and mauve blooms of the jackaranda trees. The alleys fan out from the Ventian Harbour where you can sit and revive yourself with a few plates of meze and something ice cold. Wander into the museum where a Minoan boat has been built, buy a selection of local olives in the covered market or visit the Saturday market to pick up the freshest vegetables and fruit from local growers.
Souda Bay is the resting place for members of the Allied Forces who died during the Battle of Crete in the Second World War. Peace and tranquillity reign in this beautifully kept cemetery for those wanting to take some time to reflect on the turmoil inflicted during May 1941. The German War Cemetery is equally moving and is situated in Maleme close to where the battle took place.
Take a boat trip around Balos for the day and see a peninsula which is otherwise difficult to get to or hop on an inflatable dinghy with a Padi instructor captain who will take you into caves around Almyrida for a couple of hours.

This villa was exceptional. It was very clean and beautifully presented. Everything worked that should have! It was a joy to stay in and was loved by both the adults and children. I would have no hesitation in recommending it or booking future stays. It really was a 5* villa. I would also like to thank Sally the rep. She spent time recommending various activities, places of interest, and places to eat. It was our first time in Crete and she was extremely knowledgeable about the Island and very friendly to deal with.
