Look out for the local Commercial Centres (C.C) located in every resort, which house many local and international shops, selling clothes, jewellery, shoes etc. You will find a number of good wine shops around every resort, and if in doubt check out the larger supermarkets for a good choice and good value stocks. Strelitzia (bird of paradise) flowers are the locally grown all year round and can be delivered to most resorts in beautiful gift boxes to take home. Tenerife Pearl on the Los Gigantes road is always worth a visit, and regularly hold special offer days and events, from classical style designs in every type of pearl to funky costume jewellery there is always something to suit every budget.
Electrical items can be good value for money here in Tenerife due to the low tax rate, however there are a few owners that can be extremely persuasive, check all goods are the same as the box, have the guarantee and double check any Visa slips before leaving the shop. The Visanta chain of shops have a good reputation for selling honest goods.
