Majorca Villa Rentals

If you are considering visiting the Balearic Island of Majorca in Spain for your next villa holiday and looking at Majorca villa rentals, then select one of our villas with pools at VillaPlus.com A great part of villa holidays is the advantage of not being tied down to meal times as you would if you were staying in a hotel. So if you want to sample some local dishes instead of having a barbeque at your Majorca villa, there are plenty of restaurants, café or bars to choose from.

If it's your first visit to Majorca and staying in one of our Majorca villa rentals, ask the locals as to the best guide to Majorca’s food and where to eat. Learn to speak Spanish (Espanol) before your holiday in one of our Mallorca villa rentals so that you can speak to the people who live on Majorca (Mallorca) to find out where you can go and try some of the traditional local cuisine but if in doubt go to the restaurants in Mallorca where all the locals eat! Mallorca family villas are popular at VillaPlus.com as children are generally welcome in restaurants and even some bars at night. Spanish cuisine is often described as the food of the fisherman and farmers. Mallorcan food is traditionally based on soups, stews, seafood dishes, spiced meats, with vegetables straight from the garden with locally reared meat and fresh fish.

During your holiday to Spain, whilst staying in one of our Majorca villa rentals you will notice that the Spanish tend to eat very late. In most resorts you should be able to get a meal any time of the day, but few restaurants in Palma open before 1pm for lunch and 8pm for dinner. Many restaurants in Majorca (Mallorca) offer a menu of the day, 'menu del dia' at lunchtime. Seek out a tapas bar in Puerto Pollenca. Tapas are small portions of typically Mallorquin food, served hot or cold usually on top of a counter where you can indicate to the waiter which ones you would like to try – a great way of having a 'taster' of meats, chicken, fish and vegetables prepared in sauces. A great favourite is Calamares a la romana – deep fried squid rings or Albondigas – meat balls in sauce.

Make the most of Majorca villa rentals at VillaPlus.com and experience some of the local restaurants, cafes and bars to sample some wonderful Spanish cuisine.
