Most of our Kefalonia holiday villas are centred around the favourite villa resorts of Lourdas and Trapezaki. Lourdas or Lourdata is situated behind one of the longest beaches on the south coast of Kefalonia and has sprung up by the original village; a medium sized resort with a number of good tavernas and bars but it is a quiet resort with no earsplitting nightclubs! There is little traffic hurtling through as the resort is situated at the end of a road. Some nice walks can be had along the coast heading towards the Monastery of Sission, Katsonas beach and Trapezaki.

The resort of Trapezaki has only come to life in the past few years. In the south of Kefalonia, not far from Lourdas, this resort is in its early stages with a small centre, a few tavernas and shops. A delightful resort, uncrowded, uncommercialised and sprawled out amongst olive groves and countryside. If you enjoy walking, exploring and looking for seclusion, our Kefalonia private villas in Trapezaki would be ideal for you.

Our Kefalonia villas with pools may make you feel so relaxed that you will not want to venture too far. If you can bear to tear yourself away from your private pool, pool table, table tennis table, the barbecue and all the other facilities our villa rentals are equipped with, there are loads of things to do and see on beautiful Kefalonia. Hire a car with us so that you can discover Kefalonia's spectacular, scenic routes, particularly in the north of the island. The nicest thing about driving on a relatively small island is that you are never too far from the sea.You get wonderful sea views and if you lose your bearings just spot the sea again to guide you back home. Discover the Myrtos beach, considered to be the most beautiful beach of all the Ionian Island beaches. Situated north of the island's capital, Argostoli, Myrtos beach has white pebbles and turquoise waters and is cloaked in impressive rocky cliffs. It seems like you're in paradise here – take your camera as it's one of the most snap-shot places in Greece.

Another pretty beach to visit whilst holidaying in Kefalonia villas is Emblisi beach, close to the fishing village of Fiskardo, a popular, small beach, with white pebbles and interesting rock formations on either side of the beach. Fiskardo is Kefalonia's most northern harbour, the jewel in the crown of Kefalonia and the main village in the Erissos peninsula. Signs of its heritage are still in the area in its Roman sarcophagae by the water's edge, to Venetian buildings and the lighthouse built by the British. The pretty harbour, with bobbing yachts, is lined with restaurants, tavernas and bars and was fortunate in escaping the full brunt of the 1953 earthquake - many of the buildings still stand. Worth a visit is the museum housing an exhibition of natural history of the area? There are some Roman graves down at the waterfront, although, due to lack of being cared for, they have gone to ground a bit! Hire a small boat at the harbour, a good way of exploring the north coast of Kefalonia or trundle on foot the numerous footpaths close to the coast near Fiskardo.

Lure yourself away from Kefalonia villas, if you can, and go to Argostoli, the main town of Kefalonia, worth a trip or two both during the day and at night – you will get a taste of the cosmopolitan side of Kefalonia. Pick up souvenirs and clothes from Lithostroto, the main shopping street of the town, pedestrianised, it's an ideal place to relax with a coffee or snack at one of the many cafes and people watch. Along the harbour you'll find the fruit and veg market, bakeries and food shops, a colourful place to take a stroll. Fishing boats and very expensive looking yachts are moored in the sheltered waters of the bay of Argostoli. The Drapano Bridge, stretches out from the quay which crosses the Koutavos lagoon – it's quite some engineering carried out by the Brits in the 19th century, with no cement to bind the stones together! There are many tavernas in the centre of town by the square and fashionable bars where you can relax. In the evening the locals come to walk along Rizopaston and end up in Valian Square for a drink.
