Fuerteventura has retained a special exemption from normal EU excise duties on perfumes, alcohol and tobacco, which means these items, can be purchased for considerably less than in the rest of mainland Europe. In Corralejo town, there is a varied selection of fashion shops, surf/sports shops, souvenir, cafes/bars/restaurants, supermarkets banks and chemists, to explore throughout the streets and plazas of Corralejo town.Twice weekly, morning markets are held at the BAKU Centre on Fridays and Mondays to barter for artisanal bargains.Corralejo also boasts two shopping centres:
Las Palmeras - this attractive shopping complex is in the main street of Corralejo consisting of a selection of fashion shops, a cafe on the fountain terrace, a restaurant, a large bar, perfume and department store and supermarket. There is ample parking in the underground carpark. The complex and fountains are decoratively illuminated in the evenings. Escalators, stairs and lifts, disable friendly and services.
El Campanario - designed as a Canarian Village, this shopping centre has narrow paths, canarian balconies, window boxes and decorative planters all leading to a central plaza with a fountain, cafe and a stage for regular canarian music and entertainment. The bell tower has a chiming clock and a viewing platform with excellent views of Corralejo. A variety of shops are available including designer fashions, a perfume store, surf/sport shop, souvenir shops and a supermarket. You will also find window art exhibits, a bowling alley and a selection of bars/cafes. There is a Sunday morning artisanal market with local produce, arts and crafts. In Puerto del Rosario, there are a very large selection of shops, bars/cafes/restaurants, banks and pharmacies, and the Rotondas shopping centre:
Las Rotundas - The flagship of shopping centres for Fuerteventura is in the centre of Puerto del Rosario. A large undercover shopping complex of 4 floors with underground parking. Spend the day browsing the selection of world-wide fashion shops and chains. A large supermarket, perfumes, shoes, handbags and jewellery stores are all available.Plaza coffee shops are located on each level with a top floor food hall offering cuisine for all nationalities. Escalators and lifts, and disable friendly services are available.
Caleta de Fuste has a selection of tourist shops including fashion, souvenir and groceries throughout the streets and plazas, with many cafes, restaurants and bars. A Saturday morning street market is located in Montecastillo. The local shopping centre is the Atlantico Centre:
