| News from Mallorca |

Mallorca has always been a popular Mediterranean holiday resort, which is why VillaPlus.com started its Mallorca villas with pools programme three years ago with just 30 villas. Today, VillaPlus.com is about to start its fourth season on this beautiful Mediterranean Island with a programme that extends to just over 150 villas! |
You may ask what would be the main reason for VillaPlus.com’s success on the Island and without a doubt we feel it’s not just our choice of attractive holiday villas, but the care we take in refurbishing our new villas to make them a "home from home".
Our Overseas team are already busy refurbishing our new Mallorca villas with pools, and we thought it would be a good idea to explain just what goes into a VillaPlus.com villa reform "behind the scenes" in order to make your VillaPlus.com holiday a memorable one.
Once a new villa has been contracted, we make several visits to the property to detail exactly what needs to be done to bring it up to VillaPlus.com standards. Our first concern is to work in conjunction with the owner to ensure that the villa complies with the local health and safety regulations.
The next step is to look at the feasibility of installing air conditioning/heating and/or pool heating into the villa. This is not always an easy task, as the electrical supplies in some of the more mature villas is limited, so we employ a team of electricians to firstly upgrade the electricity supply and then install the air conditioning/heating units and/or pool heaters. We have been very successful in this process and a large percentage of our holiday rental villas now have air conditioning/heating and/or pool heating.

We believe the next stage of the refurbishment process is the most important, this is where we look at how the villa is furnished. Generally the villas are furnished to a good standard, however items such as sofas in Mallorcan villas are not usually as comfortable as in the UK and often dark furniture prevails. So we visit the new villas with catalogues and colour charts in hand to see what can be "brightened up" or made more appealing and cosy without losing the villas original charm. Occasionally we will put paint brush to canvas and add our own little pieces of artwork to your holiday villa. By using bright colours and comfortable, soft furnishings we aim to create a delightful and relaxing villa holiday atmosphere.

Once the furniture and soft furnishings have been ordered, it’s time to install the satellite television, PlayStation 2, DVD player, pool table and table tennis table. When the new furnishings arrive, it’s all hands on deck to hang new curtains, unpack and place the new furnishings and finally ensure that all those little extras are placed in the kitchen - believe me to find a potato masher in Mallorca can be quite a tall order! |
