Various - Easter, a major celebration set according to the Greek Orthodox calendar, is rarely the same as the UK. On Easter Saturday large bonfires, burning effigies of Judas and fireworks abound after midnight mass.

Various - Thought to celebrate the salvation of Noah or possibly Aphrodites birth from the sea. Cypriots celebrate with a whole week of fun, games and folk dancing.

June to September
Paphos - Music, theatre and dance are staged at Paphos Fort and the Ancient Odeon. The highlight is often considered to be the Paphos opera held in September.

Usually the first week in September
Limassol - Held in the municipal gardens near the old town of Limassol, the wine festival is one of the largest festivals in Cyprus, attracting thousands of people every year. Though the entrance fee is minimal you'll need to buy a glass. Still, you can keep it topped up!
