Larnaca is on the South East of Cyprus and hosts the busiest airport on Cyprus and the second largest port. It is a fast expanding, small city with historical charm. Hotels and holiday complexes are beginning to appear on the outskirts of Larnaca as tourism is beginning to grow.

The atmospheric old town is alive and bustling with shoppers. It has a pedestrian area, Zenon Kitieos, with many bars and restaurants.

Down at the waterfront pay a visit to the medieval museum in the grounds of Larnaca fort and have a leisurely stroll along the palm lined promenade to the marina. Here you will find chic yachts from all over the Mediterranean. The large pink flamingos return to the salt lake area of Larnaca every year and visitors on their villa holiday flock to see them soaring in the sky.
The beaches nearby are not the best but get better along the coast.
Larnaca, once called Kition in the Old Testament days has plenty of historical sightseeing on offer and in the surrounding area. The ruins of the ancient city can still be seen. Visit the 17th century church of St Lazarus where the remains of St. Lazarus lay for many centuries – the church has its own Byzantine museum.
The main tourist attraction is the mosque next to a salt lake to the south west of Larnaca which attracts pilgrims from across the world.
Larnaca is a relaxed place and the Cypriots are friendly and make you feel welcome.
