Resorts in Costa del Sol

FUENGIROLA

Fuengirola in the Costa del Sol is famous for its 5 miles of beaches and attractive promenade lined with high rise hotels and apartment blocks, lively restaurants, bars and a hectic nightlife.
This Spanish holiday town has also mananged to retain some of its charm from when it was once a small fishing village. The main square, Plaz de la Constitucion and the narrow streets that lead from it are probably the best to expore on your VillaPlus holiday. The 7km promenade leading from Carvajal to Torreblanca, Los Boliches and along the seafront to Fuengirola, now newly planted with palms and rubber trees and brightly lit in the evening, is one of the area's most pleasing additions.
Fuengirola also has a busy commercial centre with great shopping and several flourishing weekly markets which attract visitors from miles around. Don't forget to explore the charming old town of Fuengirola centred around the church square.
The beaches are clean and well organised, stretching from Carvajal right along to Fuengirola. Beach bars and restaurants can be found every 100 yds or so and most of the beaches around them offer sun beds and sun shades. Various water sports are available and from Fuengirola harbour, boat trips can be taken along to Benalmadena.
If you like to relax with a game of golf on your villa holiday, there are two golf courses at Mijas Golf which are challenging enough, as well as other golf courses in the area. Fuengirola is without doubt one of the most popular holiday resorts on the Costa del Sol and there is no shortage of things to do at this fun filled family holiday resort.
