The area is rich in history dating back more than 3000 years with the Romans leaving their mark and centuries later the Moors and Christians battles have shaped much of the architecture, culture and tradition along the coast. The modern development of the area as a tourist destinations started in the 1950’s with what were small fishing villages rapidly growing to meet every need.
