Activities For Kids In Corfu

Corfu is a great place for children.  With its endless lovely beaches ideal for swimming, snorkelling or messing about on a pedalo or lilo (of which there are a huge selection available for sale in all resorts). It has a child friendly welcoming atmosphere and you will find your children easy to entertain. If you manage to persuade them away from the villa pools and beaches there are various other activities available throughout the island.|The Greek people revere their children and those of others and you will find a warm welcome for them almost everywhere you go. Most water sports jetties and horseriding establishments have facilities available for children over the age of about 7 and there are various boat trips available that children enjoy. Eating out for families is a pleasure too.  Almost all tavernas and restaurants offer a very warm welcome to children of all ages, some offering special menus and highchairs.
Waterparks

There are 2 waterparks on the Island: Hydropolis on the outskirts of Acharavi on the north coast, and the larger Aqualand in Ag Ioannis, just outside Corfu Town. Both parks have a good selection of slides, pools and various refreshments available. Aqualand is by far the largest of the waterparks and in fact one of the largest waterparks in Europe with a big selection of rides and activities for all ages (including a very sedate 'lazy river' for older party members!) It has a couple of cafes and snack bars, a small shopping area and plenty of sun loungers and is open from 9am-8pm daily all Summer.

One of the hotels in Sidari also has a few small waterslides and a pool, open to the public.

Paintball For older children and teenagers a great way to let off a bit of steam is at the paintball circuit in Dassia. Open daily it is just off the main Corfu-Kassiopi road.
Ten - pin bowling Just on the outskirts of Corfu town is a 12 lane indoor bowling centre with a large games room downstairs.  Open from 10.00-02.00 daily it is a great place for a family day or evening out.
Play Park On the main road to Corfu town there are two indoor play parks that are fun for smaller children with bouncing inflatables, padded adventure playgrounds and pleasant cafes.
Horse & buggy rides The evenings in Corfu town are a delight for families.

A fun thing to do is to take the horse and trap for a small tour of the town. You will see them around Corfu Town and you should ascertain the cost before getting onboard. It is well worth the hour you spend holding up traffic.

Alternatively, you may prefer  to jump on the tiny train for a trip around town.

The park and the Liston area is alive with families drinking coffee whilst their children play ball on the cricket pitch or ride on the small battery powered cars in the park.

Boat trips

The beautiful 14 meter motor yacht, the Nautilus, offers trips around the North East coast of the island or a day or night time cruise round to Corfu Town. The boat has a BBQ and passengers will also have the chance to swim from the boat - perfect for snorkelling!

Paleocastritsa has little boats that take up to 20 people on small tours to the nearby caves.  The tours last about an hour and are a lovely way to admire the dramatic scenery and small caves of the West Coast.

Calypso glass bottom boat leaves from Corfu old port on a regular basis. A large glass bottom boat it takes big groups to a spot just off the island of Vidos.  The round trip takes about an hour and children can see sea lions and the fish around the island.
