This delightful village is nestled in a pretty, secluded bay, dotted with olive trees and offers four tavernas, a pretty harbour and stunning sea views. The beach is small but better beaches, long and pebbly, at Kerasia or Avlaki are a half hour walk if you want to stretch your legs, or 20 minutes in the car. The beaches are excellent for swimming, snorkelling and lapping up the sunshine. Explore along the coast from Agios Stefanos with a boat trip, 'Nautilus', including an al fresco meal and some local wine.

The most important part of Corfu villa holidays is spending time unwinding and relaxing in a seaside taverna, next to blue seas and enjoying a meal. The locals love to eat out and it's a chance for families to catch up and relish in some good food. Corfu caters for all tastebuds whether you wish to try the local food or choose the old favourites such as pizza and pasta.
The Greeks like to serve up 'mezes' or 'pikilia', (a selection of starters or dips) which could have you eating taramasalata, tzatsiki or kalamari (squid) and then a main course with such dishes as Pastitsada, Moussaka, Kleftiko or locally caught fish. A strongly fortified town and port, Corfu Town's history goes back a long way. Just by wandering through narrow, Venetian-style streets, evidence is apparent of its historic past. You can view Byzantine churches and Italian platias. Stroll along either of the Venetian fortresses for views across the town, port and the sea. For something to eat or shopping, there's a wide range of restaurants, café bars and shops, you'll be spoilt for choice.

In Greece, every possible occasion is celebrated with a festival – During August in Corfu Town, St Spiridon is celebrated with a religious procession with priests and bands parading through the streets of the Old Town. St Spiridon is believed to have appeared during a violent thunderstorm and helped to defeat a major Turkish attack.
