Corfu town - Marked with a procession through Corfu Town, wreath laying, parades and brass bands.

3-6 August
Various - Tradition has it, and is still in a few cases adhered to, that you should walk to the top of the mountain to go to the church during these days. So a traditional festival is held to celebrate.

August
Corfu Town - Commemorates a time in 1717 when St Spiridon is said to have protected the island from Turkish attack. A religious procession meanders through the streets of Corfu Old town where brass bands play. Various floats are built onto traditional ‘caiques’ before they sail through the Bay of Garitsa where the tale is retold with fireworks and music.

15 August
Various - A Greek national holiday throughout the Island. Villages come alive.

August & September
Various - The Corfu Festival brings famous musicians from Greece and other parts of the world together. The events tend to take place in places of historic interest, including at the Liston and in the town hall square, where concerts and plays are held.
