Vilamoura’s centre is based around its stylish marina with a wide variety of restaurants, bars, shops, boutiques and evening entertainment. It also has one of the few casinos in The Algarve that also hosts some evening shows. The surrounding areas consist of open spaces interspersed with numerous pine trees, golf course, holiday developments and villas.
Sports facilities are good in Vilamoura with six championship golf courses. Vilamoura, referred to as the ‘Old Course’ and Vilasol Golf Course are particular favourites for the keen golfer.
In addition to golf there is a horse riding centre, a tennis centre and watersports/sea fishing facilities.
There are two beaches to either side of the marina at Vilamoura notably the unspoilt golden sands of Praia da Falesia beach that runs for several miles westwards along the coast. This beach has 3 restaurants and good secure parking.
