ALBUFEIRA

Albufeira has a striking collection of white houses as well as its fair share of decorative churches, hermitages and chapels. A symbol of the new usurping the old is the restaurant that was once the North Gate Tower of the city walls.

Oblivious to holidaymakers, fishermen head out to sea to catch fresh fish for the local restaurants to serve - well worth a visit for a true taste of Portugal! A coastal walk reveals the glorious rock formations unique to the area and the pretty cave at Xorino.

The Old Town is a maze of quaint cobbled streets with gift shops, fabulous, traditional restaurants and a number of bars with a thriving nightlife scene.

The marina at Albufeira is surrounded by colourful houses and has a number of bars, restaurants and activities to suit everyone. For the more adventurous, the marina offers everything from windsurfing to scuba diving, parasailing to dolphin safaris! You can also hire a boat and take a tour of the beautiful Portuguese costline.
